What happened to my Package at Canada Post?? Someone Please Help!!

I ordered a package from an Ebay Seller in Hong Kong and i've never had problems with this seller before as i've delivered lots of the same items from them but this time my package seems to be in Limbo..

I ordered it back in January 4th and it said it arrived on January 10th and went through customs. On January 11th it was released by customs and went to Canada Post for processing and said it went to Richmond BC on January 11th...The tracking hasn't updated since.

Funny enough i ordered another item from him on January 9th and that one came really fast as expected and had no problems..

But it's been that way for over 3 weeks now and i don't know what's going on. I asked him if he could find out what happened to it and he's made an inquiry to Hong Kong Post but is there anything i can do? I tried finding out if i could call someone to ask what happened but since it's not my package, i don't know who to call in this matter..

Thanks.

You can contact CP, but I guess your package was lost.

if the seller has contacted hong kong post they will contact canada post try to track it down. if they cant find it the seller should get his money back if he insured the package. then its up to him if he wants to ship another one or refund u.

if the seller dont refund or replace it u can alway file a buyer protection claim with ebay and they will refund u no issue if the tracking dont show delivered.

even if u call canada post they will just ask u to contact the sender. there policy is that investigations have to be started from the senders end.

Over the last few months, it's taken about 2-4 months to get my stuff from China. The worst was I ordered a few dashcam mount for a few dollars in Oct. I just got them yesterday. I already extended buyer protection a few times, disputed and got a refund in January.
It came yesterday...

Your case is a little bit different because your package arrived at BC right on Christmas, so it will definitely take much longer

You need to call CP to find out what is going on. If they say your item is lost, then you cannot do anything besides the seller. However, CP may know something we don't know. If the item is not lost, they will investigate it for you without the need of the seller involve.

do you know the number to call canadapost? i tried calling this number 1-866-607-6301 but all it does is tell me the status of my package..i don't know a number to call to talk to an actual person about what's going on with that package.

You can try to ask the question directly or ask for the contact number from Facebook. By the way, the 1800 should be able to speak to a real person according to facebook, but you may need to file a service ticket first.

Canada Post is the leading cause of lost packages for me.
It certainly doesn't help that they killed tracking on international packages too.

They're stupidly hard to get ahold of via phone.
You basically have to use social media because their IVR system is pants on head stupid.
I've lost a few packages because they were return to sender because I couldn't actually contact them via a regular sane method.
Ended up creating an account on Twitter and contacting them that way. Then they told me to call them via the same number you just posted.

TL;DR standard CP runaround

yeah, i'm starting to accept that they probably lost it so i think i'm gonna ask the seller for a refund soon..it's the first time i've ever had a package get lost by them and contacting anyone by phone is not easy..if at all possible. i only got in contact with them on facebook since it says you can message them and someone will respond and they basically said only the seller can contact their country's post office so that they can contact them and to make an investigation...i can't do anything in this case Neutral Face
