finished setting it up a while ago. not the greatest speakers ever made but for $100 i wasn't expecting anything and they are pretty good for the space they take up. i just need to get a place to put everything receiver philips dvp642(xmas gift) digital tv box.

yes a very small guage tho, 24-28 somewhere, lots of length to them as well fronts are probably 20-25 feet rears are close to 40 feet. i hooked it all up last night and watched TV in surround, setup works great for the small space it's setup in. for $100 the speakers are pretty good, tho i wouldn't spend $300 on them.hesp wrote:Hey do the Yamaha speakers come with speaker wires ?

yes that's probably my first upgrade (16 guage wire) as well. the sub is pretty small (6.5") and will probably be the second upgrade once i find a bigger place. it is enough for my current space, didn't really play it that loud last night as it was late and it's set up in an apartment building. i'll test it out when i get home from work.hesp wrote:Thanks for the reply;I heard that 16 gauge would be better fit;My set hasnt been shipped yet; perhaps I should get the 16 gauge to replace the existing ones? How does the sub sound?

sounds good; I just bought a set of speaker stands from Ikea. I might go check out Home depot, Radio Shack for the wires.SoNgMaN wrote:yes that's probably my first upgrade (16 guage wire) as well. the sub is pretty small (6.5") and will probably be the second upgrade once i find a bigger place. it is enough for my current space, didn't really play it that loud last night as it was late and it's set up in an apartment building. i'll test it out when i get home from work.![]()
