What is my fault about this ticket?

Today I got a parking ticket between 5.00 pm-8.00 pm for parking longer than 3 hours. I got the same ticket 6 months ago but just paid and didn't want to dispute because I thought it's given mistakely and not gonna happen again.

I park front of my house. There is a park spot in the street. There is no kind of parking sign on the street that we can't park between some hours or not asking a parking permit over night. The location around 900 dundas st east, toronto. What we supposed to do not to get ticket?

"Within the City of Toronto, an unsigned maximum three-hour parking limit exists on public roads unless there is signage posted indicating otherwise (eg, maximum 1 hour parking, maximum 15 minute parking, etc.)."

If it's unsigned, then you can only park 3 hours.

It's only 1 spot. I didn't park there.

As you see there is a sign for only 1 spot.

What if there is no garage or spot for houses? Where we gonna park. It's not make sense.

You buy a house with parking, or you get rid of your car. Or you park elsewhere. Looks like there are 4 lots nearby on Broadview.

edit: you apply for a permit

You apply for a parking permit with the city...

As with all municipalities there is a limit on how long you can park when no signs are present. Literally every city has these bylaws.

The problem is, there is a parking spot and it's closed to traffic. By side there is a bike lane. There are more than 30 cars in this spot. There is no way they can find another place to park. I am okay to pay but it's not really make sense asking not to park more than 3 hours if there's no where.

Max 3 hours or get a permit.

It's your fault for not knowing the rules. If you don't see a speed limit posted, does it mean you can go whatever you feel like? No, it is 40km unless otherwise indicated.

If permits apply to those spaces, then the area is poorly signed. The stretch of spaces should be bounded by signs similar to this that allows visitors, deliveries, etc. to park for up to 3 hours outside of 2am-6am (does that part of the bylaw exist in Toronto like it does elsewhere in the GTA?), and whenever by residents with permits. These signs were everywhere when I lived in Vancouver.

Park where it's permitted so you don't get a ticket.
The signage will tell you where it's permitted or not.

I say there is no sign about you can't park or can park. But there is parking spots for cars. Wish we can just pay but it's not allowed.

People like you just blame other people. You even don't know what is this for.

There are parking spots and people can't park more than 3 hours. Why is this for, you never ask! You just accept whatever it is. You don't care where will these people park. You can't just say move somewhere else. Ask government, if there is a parking spot and you don't let people to park, what's the solution. Why we don't let them to park if there is a spot?

You can't do anything else on the parking side instead of parking. So stop blaming others when you don't have the same issue; try to understand and ask why.

If you don't get a permit and there's no sign, then it's 3 hours maximum. It's so people don't treat a public street like their personal driveway/parking spot

Okay but what if there is nowhere to park. What will these people gonna do. This parking spot not on the traffic. They can ask money. But asking don't park more than 3 hours just not make sense and not fair dor people who lives there. Don't they know people live in this area?

Then they park somewhere else. People can choose where they live and should research based on their needs. If they need to park, get a permit. The option is there.
