Were considered a crap builder when I lived in Ottawa in the 1990s
Crap houses … maybe crap condos too

I know one of the biggest Matammy, usually has horrible reviews , at the best the home built are average quality but they are one of the cheapest as well !

Smaller but still reputable builders used to be "better" and existed over a decade ago: for example we had good experience with Ballantry Homes...
Others were OK like branthaven but grew in size/too many projects and quality declined. Also noticed they subcontracted more as they grew and lost control of their " product"...
Bottom line these days: hard to find especially since everything is subcontracted . (hence why I stated if one could find smaller builder that is building its reputation).

Fieldgate, Tribute, John Boddy, Sundial are a few in Durham.

I get the impression that most if not all 'builders' are merely suc contracting out to the various trades and simply control the project.
