personally, I wouldn't use a cloud based solution for home security or cameras.
I wouldn't esp use a cloud from a company which makes cheap stuff. If I was to use a cloud I would use it from a specialty security company but only as a cloud backup to a local pvr not a constant rolling cloud.

Depends on budget, wired or wireless, etc...
Wired = Less expensive but involves some bit of work in wiring gives more Reliability/peace of mind
Wireless = most of the times atleast 30% expensive, less labor & so Reliability
I personally spent $300 for 4 Wired cams from Lorex. Works awesome flawless since atleast 15 months...

+1

$30-35 a camera. Super easy to setup. Super reliable. Ya it's cloud based, but it's just monitoring outside. Don't put any in your house.

I just bought 3 amcrest outdoor camera 4MP, and each one is $129 on Amazon. You can use wire or wifi net network. Very easy to setup. You can download their application NVR for window or Mac to record the camera. I would recommend.
