I don't know the science of safe to eat re. this crab. I've made it, I've are it and I'm still standing (say it like Elton LoL).UrbanPoet wrote: ↑ I was kinda creeped out too. But Koreans have been eating this for thousands of years.
Do you think that marination sauce ferments the crab?
I’ve been telling my self the crabs get fermented and cooked by the acids and enzymes in the sauce. Like ceviche. Thats what makes me feel better… lol.
Also… The whole sashimi thing. I eat BC spot prawn like sashimi.
Soooo expensive. But delicious.
Fact is any raw seafood carries risk (meat not cooked to X temp also carries risk)....oysters, scallops, fish mussels, clams, lobster etc.
If you're not perfectly healthy ie immuno comprised, I'd say don't eat this (or even sushi for that matter).

Do try the savory version. It's easy to make with simple ingredients and so delicious especially as the weather cooks. Feels like eating a warm hug

You'll have to use you imagination on this dish because I forgot to take the constructed dish. Only missing pics are the broth and the finished bowl of noodles LoL.
It's homemade ramen. Made the noodles with my Philips pasta maker (because someone asked about a pasta maker).

mystery highly salted meat loaded with nitrates and surrounded by a thin white layer of fat, is to die for. I ate this regularly growing up.
I prefer the hereford brand.

Buy a can of Spam and hide it somewhere.....when you have a "Home Alone" dinner, pull it out and flat top it. Couple of slices of white bread and a fried egg and you got a classic Hong Kong sandwich. Doesn't hurt to slather the bread with butter and toast it as well to kick it up a notch.

Take it a step further. Pop it open on the tail gate @ the motel parking lot.
Bring a tupper ware with plastic knife and fork.
Open spam and dump it into the tupper ware. Discard spam can in public garbage.
Cut it up with plastic knife and fork. Spam cuts like butter it will do. Cook it over a camp stove using a disposable foil tray as the cooke. That way you can throw it out.
Then eat it with some wonder bread and cheese slices from the Gas station store.
Discard of everything in a public garbage.
Spray car with fabreeze.
Drive home with all windows rolled down.
Act normal.
“Hows your day hon?”
“NOTHING. I mean good.”
