What's first on your destination list once COVID is over?

Assuming we can start travelling safely again sometime before the end of 2021 without the need to quarantine.

What is first on your city list? London? Tokyo? Dubai? Rio?

Where you going?

I was planning an Egypt-Jordan backpacking trip before COVID.

Was also planning doing a Japan trip down the line too, but more extensive with one of their rail passes to visit the deserts/mountain areas.

If we can travel for Christmas, it’s probably going to be Mexico for the holidays and after that hopefully a trip to Panama or Argentina.

Back to the city I love. One of the greatest cities in the world. Beautiful women. Great Beer. Great museums. Shipol one of the best airports in the world. Also I really discovered a taste for cheese in my covid isolation. Going to hit up their cheese too.

Just curious why everyone likes Japan so much. Seems expensive, long plane ride.

Plus you got to worry about giant radioactive dinosaurs.

Japan is no more expensive than many other tourist places. That’s an urban myth (no pun intended) that it’s the most expensive city in the world. Just avoid 5* Western hotel chains and Michelin star restaurants and you will spend no more (possibly less) than at home. I came close to the Godzilla when I stayed at the Hotel Gracery in Shinjuku/Tokyo.

You need to visit Japan to fully understand why everyone loves it some much. The people, the culture, the food, etc... someone once told me that when are at the airport to return home from your first trip there, you will have a tear in your eye. They were right.

Yes, plane ride is long (I’ve been lucky to fly business all 4 times for me with Aeroplan), but time will go by quickly regardless. AC’s outbound flight leaves mid day from Canada, so you arrive there midnight 1am (Eastern time), mid day local time. So not really a red eye. Hardest part is adjusting to time zone. Took me 3 days to get proper sleep.

Back to topic, for me, France the moment their lockdowns/curfews end (early spring?) and Japan later. Like many others, my trip last April to Osaka and Nagoya was cancelled. Luckily I got fully refunded for it all.
