Not complaining, just curious if you're doing anything different with rising gas prices.

What about you driving habits? Are you more, say relaxed, easy on the throttle?

As for me, being winter sometimes after working out late, I use my Cruise Control. The last few weeks I gave up filling up at Costco. I rely on my Air Miles, Petro Points/$0.03 off a litre.

My GTI came in yesterday and picking her up Thursday. I'm off this weekend and planning a long drive. LOL Great timing.

don't care, might slow down a little bit, and put a couple extra PSI in the tires but that's about it.

Driving 100KM/H on highway.
Make sure tire pressure is inflated correctly
Plan my trips.

Thank goodness I only go to work 2 days/week. The rest of the week I WFH.
And I'm Lucky NOT to be driving an SUV or AWD Vehicle.

Taking Public Transit isn't cheaper compared to putting Gas in the car..

Waiting on my Tesla to come in so I can sell my ICE car lol. Luckily both my wife and I work from home so don't really use much fuel.

I drive significantly less now since working from home. I've only been filling every 2-3 months.

Nothing is changing. Was contemplating dumping my car (older E90) for a Model 3. But the car is trash, seems like they are built by 5 years olds. I'll just stick with our current 2 vehicles for now.

It sucks but won't change anything for me personally. I fill up when I'm down to a quarter tank regardless of the price. Both my vehicles require premium too!

Not sure yet. Unfortunately can't change driving, can't change the price of gas.

So, if / when it becomes an issue, need to focus on things I can control with excessive spending. A good example is, this Sunday, friends took our boys to the Y, the out for dinner. Usually, Wifey and I would go out, order sushi, or whatever. We made a big old plate of nachos, that turned out great. That alone saved Me more money than the increased price of gas would cost me this week.

So, eat out less, take out food less, less beer, Starbucks, etc. ALl things people will need to start thinking about cutting down on.

Doesn't change anything for me. I WFH full time so don't have a commute drive. Otherwise on the weekends when I do drive I drive the same way I drove when gas prices were at 70cents/L back in 2020. Still enjoying the car while not driving at stupid speeds etc. Enjoy driving the car too much (not in rush hour traffic) to change my habits.

Unless your referring to specifically subaru AWD, the majority of all AWD systems are primarly FWD-biased. They rear wheels are only engaged by the system under traction lost.

FWD is for the most part not providing you any additional savings, sadly. Safety > Gas Savings.

For me, it's just like the weather - it is what it is and all you can do is complain about it.

The "family fleet" transition was already started a few years ago when the 3rd vehicle that was added was a BEV. The premium gas vehicle is a convertible and I'm holding out replacing it until there's a comparable BEV or PHEV convertible, but at this rate it's probably a keep for 3-5 more years. The main family hauler is a diesel that's not slated for replacement for 3-5 yrs because it still has lots of life left, diesel mileage is still pretty good, and diesel is still always cheaper than premium.

Nothing's changed for me. Even at 70c during the pandemic, my habits haven't changed. Bought cars that were fuel efficient enough in their respective classes. No point wasting money on high HP/torque vehicles I didn't need.

-Reminded my love ones to keep the two hybrids in eco mode and just stomp on the gas pedal as required.
-I don't go out unless I have to ($-$$$ when you step out of the house). I always try to combine trips as warm engine usually gets better fuel economy.
- Check tire pressure every few weeks (so far no leaks) and add 3-4 PSI over the recommended PSI. Visually inspect before leaving the house.
-105-115 km/h on the highway usually on the slow lane, 8-15 over on city roads.
- Observe fuel economy because if it goes down significantly (based on seasonality), there could be some issues with the vehicle.

With about six active Airmiles account, we often get the 30L x 2 = 75 BAM or 30L x 3 - 100 BAM. The discount/reward is shrinking as a percentage of fill ups but the nearest Shell is about 1 km away so it's convenient enough. Have also brought two cars to fill up on several occasions because 30L was too much.

I am thinking of more frequent oil changes (than every 16k) and using Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy motor oil though but I don't think that matters more than just keeping the hybrids in eco mode. :)

Won't impact me too much at this point, but I'll be driving slow as f*ck when I start hauling the rv. I get around 25 L/100km @ 90 kph, but it jumps to 35 L/100km @ 110 kph.

Still cheaper than paying for accommodation. :)

Trudeau just singled handedly out Canada into recession. This is what I gonna do. Cut on other things to fill the gas tank.

Nothing changes, I only drive when I need to anyway. My driving habit does not depend on price of gas, when the gas price crashed so hard during the pandemic, I didn't drive any extra.
