If you're near a big city, a middle eastern market might have them. If not, then Amazon has them, just look for flat metal skewers like those used for grilling kebabs.
These are just the first ones that come up, I haven't bought from either company. I just remember doing a search a while back when I was trying some Persian cooking.

When you say FLAT...how wide? the middle eastern ones are around 1/2" (IIRC) wide.
BTW "SW ONTARIO" in your profile doesn't help ppl give you more exact advice.
