I had this same problem bought one from dollarama and it is crap because it's plastic when you press with force it will break definitely get one all metal.
Where can I buy a garlic presser that is not super pricey?

I've had mine for so long I cant remember where I got it from, but it was not expensive, and I use it all the time. I find there is a place for chopped and crushed garlic, so depending on what I need as to what I use. Could not live without the press tho, there are definitely times you need it.
That's my 2cents worth

I got mine at the Real Canadian Superstore for around $12 IIRC. It's PC branded and really solid.

In the mini-series, A Year in Provence, one of the main character's retirement gift from the office colleagues
was a garlic press. "I'll think of you everytime I squeeze."

Have new cookbooks but am not cooking anything new yet.
