Where can one still purchase Eggnog in Toronto?

I'm trying to find eggnog in Toronto or the GTA. I recently learned that having eggnog with creme de cacao on the rocks is a fantastic drink. I would like to enjoy this more.

Commercially made Eggnog is pretty seasonal
November 1st to January 1st (ballpark on dates )

Why not make your own ?
Then you can enjoy year round whenever you wish

I’d go with a “cooked” base vs a raw one
Both for food safety & taste reasons

Your best bet is probably a convenience store and even that is a longshot. There were a few posts in the hot deal forum of big retailers cleaning out stock. The recent one being Metro.

Yah I saw the one for RCSS in Milton, but too far just for some eggnog.

I'll look at Metro. Thanks

Keep an eye on the best before date(s) though. I think the final date is January 30th 2022.
Any time after that and you might have to wait until near the end of 2022 for a fresh new batch.

Oooooo, it’s got eggs in it
So, Personally …
I certainly wouldn’t have used it beyond Christmas Eve / Christmas Day

But .. Eat By Date website says you can push things out a bit past the Best Before Date marked

Yep not the wisest thing to do, but I thought it would be the last I'd have til next Christmas, and given that I recently learned it pairs well with creme de cocoa, I took the risk.

Though egg nog doesn't taste as good as before best before date.

No? Really? Ya think? lol
A world of difference in taste.
Sometimes it really isn't so much about how "safe" something still is, but indeed how it actually tastes.

That's true. It was still good and not terrible which is why I consumed it

What ratio? I still have an unopened carton in my fridge.

No doubt it would be terrible for me. I expect a certain level of quality.

I'm still experimenting, but it seems a shot of creme de cocoa for a glass of egg nog will do. I ensure to add like 2 ice cubes to mitigate the thickness and sweetness of the drink.

Given that I really enjoy grocery store egg nog, my tastes are much lower than yours. I'm sure if I had the nog you have, I'd never go back to store bought lol

I only drink store bought. I do not make my own.
Thing is, I don't want to taste the cardboard it came in or some other off taste.
That's what tends to happen after expiry.

Adding on here …

@playnicee1 Aren’t you the guy who’s also buying eggnog in glass bottles ?
Ala Whole Foods or Farm Boy

Or have I got you mixed up with someone else ?

You may be mixing me up if you mean regularly. I do buy in glass bottles sometimes for a change.
It's more of a "premium" taste that way.
Past the expiry I do not recommend drinking it.
The taste just goes...no matter how it is packaged.

Glad to be of some assistance. I am actually surprised stores are still stocking it with an expiry in Feb. I've never looked for it past Xmas myself but maybe their is a market for it year round, otherwise why would they still produce and stock it? I know that Kawartha's eggnog last production run expiry is Jan 10th.
