where is everyone is going this winter?

I am looking for an idea to travel outside Canada this December for one week before Xmas. Preferably not somewhere cold, and it has appeal for a family with a 5 years old son.

Where are you going with your family? I have been to NY and DC, so I don't want to go back there again. I also don't want to ski or play golf.

I spent the months of December and January at a course in Chicago. I have never been colder - and I've been to Winnipeg.

Vietnam/the Philippines in Feb/March.

The last two years we spent Christmas in Mexico, but we're not sure if we'll be going away this Christmas again.

it depends really. The previous years we bought the tickets as soon as the prices came out, usually in February. I kept checking the prices after that throughout the year and they were always much higher.

This year we didn't book anything for December, but when I look at the prices now, they're very similar to the ones we paid last year in February. I have the feeling it's because the major recession here in Alberta, and people just can't afford to go away anymore. Like I said in my previous post, we're not sure yet if we want to go away for Christmas this year, we'll see.
