Where to go in BC using RV?

Looking for anyone with personal experience.

Which beaches (ocean) to go in BC with RV? Looking that hidden gem but not too far from shopping and other sights seeing. Is RV the best, or just driving and stays in a hotel?

Let’s hear it :)

Pacific Rim, yes absolutely. Campers (tenters especially) get evicted from Long Beach all the time for not maintaining a bear safe campsite (leaving food in tents, etc). Rathtrevor much less so, being surrounded by Parksville, but you must always be bear aware when camping. Don't leave food out.

I used to drive with my parents' RV and camp right on the water at Jordan River (past Sooke here on the Island). It was free back then lol. I've also taken the RV to the Sooke Potholes campground. I love the Island, and there is so much beauty here. Not sure how just showing up to camp works these days. Back then, no reservations were available for Jordan River (and probably still the same). Not sure how busy things are these days, but probably very busy everywhere. Really you can't go wrong with the camping anywhere on the island. There's so many beautiful spots.

Are you planning on going this summer

BC is very very busy including ferries especially if conveying an RV. May not even be possible. With your rudimentary questions (not saying that I’m a bad way) but you can google bears in BC. Hint the short lived basketball team was called the grizzlies and although they’re not playing basketball the bears have stayed in province :p

Renting an RV will likely be impossible. Ferries will be full and camp ground sites with RV also full.

Good idea to plan next year. Not an RV guy myself but yeah if this is some loose plan for this summer. You might be very disappointed

Also we have wild fire smoke coming into metro Vancouver now. Will hit Vancouver island soon.

Good luck!

Go somewhere in the Kootenays and Okanagan. Those are the two prime spots. Check out the many lakes.
