Who Approved you the Smallest CL?

More of a fun thread. Who approved you for a card, but with the smallest CL you were ever granted?

My first card--TD Student had like $1000 limit

But as for "real card"--the now deceased Chase Amazon.ca

My student MBNA cards started with $2k CL afaik. AmEx gave me $1k when I was already working

My student card at Scotiabank started with CL of $500, with a chequing hold of $600.
Four years later they bumped it up to $1000, but kept the hold on my account. My brother however set up his first chequing account and they gave him the same card starting at $1000 with no hold

.
I had to fight through a couple hoops to get the hold removed.

Lolz I always thought PCF would rather deny credit than grant small CL.

I think they have something against us

- my wife also got $1K a year earlier. We thought it was a mistake (i.e. $10K but was misprinted as $1K) so she called and they said yes, that was correct. But then every month, they gave her 5K points if she agreed to have her CL increase by $1K. They did that 3 times, then the last time they didn't offered any point, just an increase, my wife didn't bother to call so they stopped. couple of months back, they too sent me a letter offer some increase (no incentive), so I ignored. I only use PCF WE MC for Loblaws/superstore/Shoppers use, or if they offer some coupons on the account that I could use with the card, so $1K is more than enough

Most started @ 500 for me, I thing RBC was 1K. BMO started 500, and now it's up to 34500 15 years later.

Collabria gave me $500 (which makes sense for a student card and a declared income of $0) CIBC also gave me $500 even though I declared an income with them. Every other bank has given me $1000 and nothing more

well most of you got lower CL because of your first card. On the other hand, I have been working for 25+ years and have 10 other CCs with high CLs (highest is TD $36K and Rogers lowest of them all with $10K). Maybe I have too many cards that they have some concern I can not pay so default to $1K CL? Anyhow, I will continue to keep as $1K CL and probably cancel it later
