Why no gourmet tea machines??

All these keurigs and nespresos. seems like everything is coffee and tea is an afterthought. I’m looking for a machine now… I’ve had Keurigs not impressed by them very blah tasting. I’m leaning toward nespresso but do they have a nice tea collection? In terms of coffee like drinks I’m more into Carmel machiatto and French vanilla cappuccino type drinks. What would you guys recommend?

Tea needs to be infused / steeped in hot water … be it by using a pre portioned teabag, or loose leaves.

It also needs to be done in a pot / container that IS NOT ALSO USED FOR COFFEE

As coffee oils are extremely strong and will affect the taste / enjoyment of tea.

Hence WHY any sort of coffee machine also used for tea is a major fail.

I think of it this way … tea is quite delicate, coffee is robust. Coffee will overpower tea, and render the end product undrinkable

So if you use any sort of coffee maker to make tea the dedicated filter system / drip system as well as the continuous use coffee pot … will contaminate the end product.

They do have them. They're just not all in one units like a Keurig because quality tea (or coffee for that matter) doesn't come in a pod.

What you're looking for is a variable temperature tea kettle because tea likes different temperatures based on what you're brewing.
There's no need for a fancy locked in DRMed consumable machine. All you need is accurate temperatures when making hot water.
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

Oh makes sense. I like the capuchino drinks as well which is the only reason I would consider buying

For tea you need a hot water dispenser like a Tiger https://www.amazon.ca/Tiger-PDU-A50U-K- ... 00QKUJZDC/

It keeps the water just below boiling and you push a button to reboil on demand. Pod systems do not make sense for tea because then you are spending about 50¢ per pod whereas a tea bag runs 2¢- 20¢ at the high end.

Might work for green teas but not for black teas. Grandmother had a Zorijushi (or whatever) with that feature but it was never hot enough.

Apparently this is a "smart" version where you can pick a temperature, so it would work for black assuming it dispenses at whatever it's set at.
I'd jam a thermometer in the dispensed water just to make sure though.

Just need good tea leaves, right temperature water and steep it for just the right period of time.
Some tea even deserve its own pot.

btw. try a macchiato at a real coffee house. You may like it more than those latte macchiato.

We have hard water so I would be worried about descaling it all the time to make it look presentable.

YES
I got the cheapest stainless steel whistling kettle that I use on the stovetop. The handle fell off after 15 years of use and I paid a welder $20 to put it back on. You don't need anything fancy to boil water.

And a kettle, of any sort often an unknown appliance / kitchen gadget
We’ve often found ourselves in a rental condo apt. boiling water for tea in a saucepan on the stove
