Why Should I Get A Galaxy S10 and Not The A7 ?

Saw and tried both. Beautiful phones, love the ergonomics and everything, they are both big but the A7 is cheaper in wholesale price and on subsidy, why then should I get the S10 ?

Explain.

If the A7 works for you, get the A7.

The A7 is a 2018 midship phone while the S10 is a 2019 flagship. It is better than the A7 in every single way. Better processor, better screen, better cameras, better battery... the list goes on. The price reflects this as well, of course.

Thanks, so I will go with the S10 then. Right now I have the A5 from 2 years ago and noticed that it came with a suckier OS than my old S3. Not the same OS.

Samsungs A-line has been updated. Current models available in Canada are A20 ($350/32GB), A50 ($450/64GB) and A70 ($630/128GB). A8 is still around as well.

I had the A8 for a few months, it was my Mother’s but recently upgraded her to Huawei P20 Pro.

I sold it last week. Anyways, it’s a great budget phone and it even got BETTER after Samsung upgraded the OS to One UI. The battery greatly improved.

I even posted and questioned why am I spending flagship money. It’s rhetorical. I’m anal about having the latest and greatest.

Flagship phones like the S10, Note 10 & iPhone XS line are never gonna be the best value or bang for your dollar, but if you want the latest & greatest you gotta pay to play. Smartphones are getting so good that in a way, advancements have kind of plateaued, you could even argue many of the mid level phones offer 75% or even more of the flagship specs at 50% of the cost. Me, I'm a phone enthusiast, I don't think the S10+ or iPhone XS Max are necessarily worth the price difference, but I've owned both & usually go for the latest/greatest when it comes to phones.

You guys forgot the 3rd and best option; buy a used S8 or S9 flagship phone for $400 and have 95% of the specs for half the price.

^ What kind of potential defects can we flag, especially issues with GPS locking?

The A7 has better battery life than the S10 because the S10's flagship chip uses more power. Most people won't care but its a dealbreaker for some.

Ax0 series isn't water resistant like the S10.

Or keep an eye out for deals. Like the one just ended at Best Buy for zero down and large tab of $480 for a Koodo S10e, contract immediately cancel-able. I'd much rather have a new S10e over a used S8/S9 for a about a hundred more than $400.

The A8 is almost free at TMS with $200 worth of PC points on a small tab, $0 down. Is it a better device than the A5? This is for someone who legit needs a phone and is very poor, not for reselling. I just don't want to get a crap phone that they will have issues with. The P20 Pro is way more expensive than the A8.
