Will a silicone baking sheet be strong enough to withstand the high temperature from cast iron cookware ?
I bought an induction cooktop oven range couple days ago and so far it's been pretty magical in terms of , well, basically everything.
My better half currently uses paper towel or paper under a cast iron wok to protect the cooktop from scratches and it's browning from the high temperatures. It wouldn't do that if I was just boiling water or soups as the temperature doesn't get that high I guess.
Has anybody with an induction cooktop used something like a silicon mat for baking to protect the cooktop from scratches ? I'm wondering if it would be able to withstand the high heat from a cast iron wok and not melt ?
Any other suggestions to protect from the potential scratches from the cookware to the cooktop would be appreciated as well.
