Wind now testing new Bands?

I started playing around with my old iPad today (3rd gen LTE) The thing about this is it's a Rogers/Bell/Telus iPad and isn't meant to work with wind or t-mobile. (It doesn't have their bands) I poped in the wind sim just for fun and it actually connected. The signal randomly comes and goes (despite being full bars) So I'm pretty sure that means their testing. Here's a screenshot to prove it!

So does anyone else have any info/similar stories?

I wish it was an iphone. (there is a "field test" mode) It's sadly an ipad with no way to find out. What I can say is that it's not roaming on rogers since roaming is disabled AND there is almost no rogers service here (I'd have maybe 2 bars)

What bands would they be testing in the GTA? Don't they only have 1700/2100 there?

Are you sure you're not on Wind Away/Roaming?

It would actually say "wind away" but the picture says it is connected to Wind :/

Not sure, plus I have roaming disabled AND it would say "wind away" The data worked too and was "wind speed"

It's possible there was an iOS update which silently includes support for AWS on UMTS and the radio inside the iPad actually supports AWS.... or maybe WIND is testing some new frequencies.

AFAIK Wind doesn't any 3G bands, which would be 850 or 1900. So your statement is probably more likely that something changed on iPAD.

I think iTunes might be able to extract the logging info (in Xcode developer mode)

But that's Wind 3G. I thought they are testing 4G.
