"Wind power rules, but small windmills are a swindle."

I noticed that Canadian Tire has the AirX 400W Wind Generator on sale this week for $679.99, and it reminded me of this Dutch study from last year: Small windmills put to the test.

The surprising (to me at least) conclusion: "Wind power rules, but small windmills are a swindle."

(Note: The comments at the bottom of the linked article are especially illuminating.)

All of that renewable energy equipement at CT is either junk like the AirX or over priced (solar panels)

Thanks for the great read! I didnt know those small windmills performed sooo poorly. I think the 679.99 spent elsewhere in the house such as replacing lightbulbs into Philips AmbiLED LED bulbs and weather sealing leaks and drafts will yield much more savings and environmental benefits than those junkmills that will end up in a landfill!
