Windows Terminal released version 1.0 on May 19, 2020. You can find it on the Microsoft Store if you are using Windows 10.

Oh lovely. Wasn’t hoping it’ll be hosted on the MS Store, but oh well.

Shall download it and give it a whirl.

Thanks OP for this. I just started updating. Not sure how this will help as an average user but will update it.

I will wait for the bug report. A couple reports already out that there's BSOD on some computers and dataloss. I will wait for the post update rollup update.

On every update, some people have issues. But We have no way to tell how many are user error.
I updated without any issues

I rolled back this update. May only affect a small proportion of user but it appears to break Windows Live Mail. No mail after the UG will display/download. I rolled back and it worked fine again.

I guess it's just me getting old. I'm not beta testing for MS for free anymore. I(we) did that for all their OSes before from 95 to Win 2000. With XP and 7 they focused on getting Quality Software out now they're back to the same old shit, of releasing dumpster fire after dumpster fire.
None of my production systems are getting it until the roll up comes out at the minimum. I usually follow the Enterprise model which is to be a year behind and only take the fall update.

I updated my VMs and I'll wait.

I'm still a little bitter from the 17xx series of updates.

my policy is to be 1-3 updates behind, and only to take the semi instead of semi (targeted) updates. They had some pretty bad f ups with beta testing on the general public.

yeah, I don't see any rush to do these kinds of updates, mostly happy with the way windows is now. Most of these new features I don't use

even MacOS. I've avoided Catalina this time around. Looked at what changed and there was nothing of interest.

Work laptop T480 doesn't meet the requirements yet and it told me to wait for it.

How is MS releasing this update? By system specs or by vendor?

Also I do not mind waiting. Rather the bugs and kinks be fixed and then shall update.

Has nothing to do with system specs. There are some outstanding bugs and compatibility issues. In my case there was a HASP driver causing BSODs upon install.
Once I removed the driver all was fine. Don't know why the HASP driver was there in the first place as I don't have a HASP dongle.
