winter tires 2010 Impreza 2.5i drop speed rating V - T

Our 2010 Impreza 2.5i is due for new winter tires. We don't drive much distance in a year and don't speed much past 125kmh either.

The OEM tires call for V (240kmh) speed rated tires. However most economical passenger car winters tires are T (190KMH) rated. With load ratings being the same 91, should we foresee a problem dropping from V rated winter tires to T? We're not performance oriented drivers by any means, think soccer mom driving.

Thanks

You'll be fine, but the side walls in T rated tires will not be as stiff so you'll lose some handling and the car will feel more squirrelly.

You could get H rated tires as a compromise.

Lot of V rated winter tires, if you check each tire brand and model one by one. Both sets of winter tire I bought are V rated, not by choice, just found out after picking from reviews. I would gone with T or H since I wouldnt be speeding in winter along the 400 series hwys. But I will settle for V.
