Wireless Canada Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ ... Trustworthy?

Hello,

I have seen these phones pretty often listed on ebay (S7/S7 Edge) from this seller, but have yet to see a review on an S8 / S8+.

What are your thoughts? I am thinking of picking up that S8+ as the price is not bad, and I don't want any sign up / cancel a plan deal option.

My last 4 phones were bought over ebay, but I would never buy USED phone from ebay, never. There is an issue, that you cannot trust ebay rating system, so there is no way for you to distinguish between sellers who are there to play the system and take advantage of you and sellers who are honest. If buyer opens any dispute with seller, he/she cannot leave feedback to that seller - how can you trust such review/rating system? I would avoid e-bay for used phone, but would still consider buying from very reputable seller (store) for brand new in box phone.

Looking at the S8 it's the American model G950U and if you are on Freedom or planning to move to Freedom/Wind/Chatr then you'll be out of luck. Not only that these phones are refurbished or reconditioned, and their may not be a warranty from Samsung. Plus looking at their return policy, they charge a 10% restocking fee for buyers remorse, and after 14 days of their return/exchange policy you will have to pay for shipping to ship it to them for any RMA work. IMHO, I would pass on stuff like this, and get a phone either through a carrier or locally from RFD (or kijiji). I never like to buy phones online, but rather in person so I can test it to my satisfaction with my personal SIM card.
