[Wireless Wave] [Black Friday] Wireless Wave offering Google Pixel 6 for $386 with Virgin for 2 years

Retailer:
Wireless Wave
More offers from Wireless Wave
I currently have $50 for 2gb with Virgin. The guy at wirelesswave told me that he can upgrade my plan to 10gb for $40 and....

$26 downpayment for Google Pixel 6 + $15/month towards the phone for 24 months.

Basically they are offering a $250 discount, $26 downpayment and 15/month for 24 months:
$26 + ($15/month*24) = $386

This is subject to a credit check as Im not the primary holder of the account.

Does this look legit? Am I missing anything here?

Wow, $386. Great deal.

In the Virgin app, the Pixel6 is discounted to basically $600 if using sweetpay.

I can even downpay up to $540 and pay off the $60 over 2 years Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes.

My current plan is $55 for 25GB. I think I'd downgrade to that plan, $40 10gb.

Phoned them and the deal for the pixel 6 is legit, basically $25 upfront + $25 a month, but you get $250 in store credits, which you can basically use to get the $15 a month like OP said.
HOWEVER, the $40 / 10 GB is only for 15 months. After 15 months it'll go up to $50 / month. So you'll be paying 9 months at $50 instead of $40, which you might want to add to the price of the phone if you're coming from Koodo's $40/11 Gbs.

Still hot I guess, $475 for the phone if you're coming in with a plan better than $40/10GB. Even more hot if you're not.

I dont think you can cancel right away.

It is probably just a monthly discount or credit and if you cancel right away, you will still have to pay the full price.
not the discounted price.

Do I care?
So is it $25 + ($25*24m) + ($40*24m) + ($10*9m) - 250 =
625 + 960 + 90 - 250 = $1425 for 10GB over 2 years? 59.38/mo.

It's confusing to talk about all these variables so it's better to look at total cost over the 2 years.

Is this Koodo plan still available? How can I get it?

Yeah you'd need a time machine for that. It was when a bunch of us were with public mobile, but then koodo offered a lot of PM users a $40 for 6GB plan to switch us from prepaid to postpaid. Some people were able to negotiate or take advantage of even higher offerings like $40 for 8 GB, and for some reason they were also giving a 5 GB extra bonus for free for retention purposes or something like that? Took lots of calling and negotiating. So technically my plan is $40 for 6 GB + a $0 5GB add-on per month.

Maybe some other veteran from that war with Koodo can recount the tale.

Seems like it's the same deal everywhere, just packaged differently. Costco is offering the Virgin Plus plan for $50 with 10GB for 24 months with a $10 bill credit for 15 months (so $40 per month for 15 months then $50 for 9 months), with the Pixel 6 at $25 per month and $250 in Costco Shopcards.

Here Wireless Wave is giving you the same deal, with the $250 being store credit that can be applied to your tab.

I think other stores are offering the same thing in different flavors. Everyone can choose what suits them the best.

Edit: Just saw the Walmart offer, which is the same.

Same deal that I used to get a pixel 3 a few years ago on freedom, great deal OP. Paid nothing for the phone, $56.65/12gb after tax a month for two years, freedom paid basically for the phone, applied $250 towards it. I think at the end of the two years, it cost me around $280 for the phone on tab.

EDIT: great first post, lol

Interesting. So at Costco they are giving you Costco shopcards and at the wireless booth at the mall, they are applying the credit to your tab. I wonder if they can do that at Costco too.

Looking at all of the various offers, Walmart, The Source, BestBuy, they are essentially all the same. I'm sure it's the carriers that are dictating the discounts and retailers are adjusting and applying the credit however they see fit.

Would you get 12GB for $1/mo more with Koodo? According to NavieM's Walmart post all of them are giving ($10off*15m) on $50 plans, and all three should be giving 250GC. Koodo does charge +$1/mo on phone so effectively 2GB extra for $1 if you need it.

I got a virgin mobile connection at the Source 3 days ago. Is it possible to enroll for this plan at wireless wave?

This is much more preferable compared to gift cards because I don't have to go spend $250 on stuff to use the card.
