I was expecting it break so I could buy a 4k, but its running strong...
The then and now Philips TVs are not the same anymore, since 2011 Philips sold 70% stake of TV business to Hong Kong based company TPV Technology and formed a joint venture company, then in 2014 Philips sold the remaining 30% stake to TPV, Philips completely got out of the TV business and owns 0% stake now, TPV just continued to pay Philips royalty fees for using the Philips brand. The now Philips TVs are not designed, manufactured and quality controlled by Philips anymore. I also owned a Philips Plasma TV since 2007, the quality and reliability was great, it is still working very well today. I would imagine the quality and the components used to build the TVs must have gone down after 2011.

This TV is still a good price, but don't expect it is still designed and manufactured by the old Philips, it is not the same anymore.

Hey yes $300 + environmental fee and taxes, did not have to price match. Great price just put it together. Also this debate about brand names the last Samsung TV I bought (only a few years ago) started getting lines through it just passed the warranty period. Ever since that happened I vouched never to spend too much on a TV - crapping out just passed a year is not something I would have expected from Samsung, so this can happen with any brand.
I'm happy with the picture quality and the smart features thus far. No complaints. Also I will post the receipt soon.

Also wondering why they're being cleared out already? My TV has a manufacture date of October 2014 and it was just delivered to the Wal-Mart on March 4th.

Thanks for the receipt. The manager on duty at the Walmart I went to wouldn't price match with the receipt. So I bought the TV anyway (last one), and gonna go back to CS to try again.

Bought the last one in Bowmanville. They wouldn't match the OP price though. FYI I called most all Walmarts from Mississauga to Bowmanville. You will be hard pressed to find one in and around the GTA area.

Next time you are there take in your receipt to customer service and ask them why you paid more. I believe they price protect (OR whatever they call it) for about two weeks? Different manager may price adjust for you in the name of good customer service.
