Wood Burning Fire Pits VS Propane Fire Tables VS Patio Heaters

Hey Guys

As the weather gets cooler this fall and into winter we're thinking of getting something to keep us warm for occasional back yard sessions.

I'd say 2-3 people around the heat source.

We like the idea of open flame for the ambiance but worry about the effectiveness to keep us warm.

Anyone have experience with any of the options in say a +2 to -10 scenario?

Btw, neither of our immediate neighbors have an issue with a wood burning option.

I have a Napoleon Patio flame (the round fire put looking version) powered by NG. Its pretty but nearly useless for keeping me warm. Also have a stand up patio heater that is amazing down to -5. Both are on our deck which a real fire cant be.

Not sure where you are based but check local laws. Fire pits, although sold in Toronto, are not legal to use here. Not sure about the restrictions in other areas.

I believe they are legal if you intend to use the fire for cooking. So... Just have a spare hotdog on a stick and you are golden.
