Koodo Galaxy S10 Med Tab Upgrade - $78.40 in-store & get $100 GC

Price:
78.40
Expiry:
December 2, 2019
Retailer:
WOW Mobile
There's another thread for Walmart but it gets convoluted looking for WOW Mobile info and some conflicting info.

I ended paying $78.40 in-store for my Galaxy S10 AND Received a $100 Mastercard Prepaid Credit Card gift for my upgrade.

$220 Current Medium Tab ($15/month * 24 $360) in-store price
-$100 Negotiated with Loyalty dept for $100 in-store hardware discount ($125 if buy from Koodo online)
-$50 The usual WOW trade-in credit of any junk phone with a valid IMEI/serial number somewhere (doesn't even have to power on)
= $70 plus taxes = $78.40 in BC
This is a Koodo promo: waived $35 connection fee.
WOW Mobile gave me a $100 Mastercard gift card.

Koodo Loyalty and the WOW Mobile rep (he tried to apply the code) confirmed that the rumored $10 credit for 15 months was not stackable with my $100 hardware credit, I opted to keep the up-front discount I got from Loyalty. Btw, I previously had a $75 credit but I called in today and they bumped me up without any fight when I asked if I could have more discount.

Churners need not apply, this is a decent deal for someone like me who had an "ancient" Galaxy S7 and who plans to stay with Koodo with my $60 12GB plan which stayed intact after the upgrade. Best part of the $50 trade-in they do at WOW, taxes calculated after the trade-in credit. Not sure how long WOW will do this, maybe Cyber Monday too?

what does this mean? $220 up front and 15/24 on your tab? this makes it $580 - whatever discounts/GC's you got?

I think the net is $430 plus Tax - $100 Gift Card Very Good Deal.

+$220
+360
-100
-50
=430 + Tax - $100 Gift card

How did you get the S10 on tab medium? The Koodo website says tab extra large

I need a phone soon so should I switch from Fido and is this the the best deal for the phone ?

Will Fido match the Koodo deal on the Phone as I am currently in their BYOD plan

Koodo gave me $50 off on a tab medium. So got the iphone xr for $310 of tab medium. And when i called in they gavevme $10 off for 24 months so an extra $240 in bill credits. Making the XR roughly $110 at the end of 2 years

What did you mention for them to give you 10/24 discount? What is your plan?

Same promo that I took advantage of, except at BestBuy.

I would have preferred a prepaid MC instead of a BB GC, but unfortunately had no time to visit a WOW mobile.

The RBC Telus plan seems to be the best value at the moment when porting 3+ lines:

20Gb / $85 / -$15 3x line Reb - $10 Reb - $16.67 ($400 port-in Reb over 24/m) + $15/m IPhone XR = $58.33/m
20Gb / $85 / -$20 4x line Reb - $10 Reb - $16.67 ($400 port-in Reb over 24/m) + $15/m IPhone XR = $53.33/m
10Gb / $75 / -$15 3x line Reb - $10 Reb - $16.67 ($400 port-in Reb over 24/m) + $15/m IPhone XR = $48.33/m
10Gb / $75 / -$20 4x line Reb - $10 Reb - $16.67 ($400 port-in Reb over 24/m) + $15/m IPhone XR = $43.33/m

For 1-2 lines, the Telus EPP plan is better at $67.50/m incl. iPhone XR and 20GB.

Sorry a bit confused - Where did you get/start off with the $220?

Can anyone that is currently medium tab eligible (I have the $60/12gb plan) go to a WOW kiosk, go on the tab and get the $100 MC gift card?

Im trying to find info on the WOW website but dont see anything?

Koodo website showing the S10 at $220 for Medium Tab

WOW didn't advertise the upgrade mastercard promo on website, goto a store or call if you can get someone to answer to confirm and answer your questions. I posted exactly that's the same plan I have, was tab eligible and took the medium plan, yes.

That and I don't think Best Buy gives you extra $50 off for recycling a junk phone? I paid $78.40 in the store up front for the phone.

Thanks for the share OP! I've been watching the S10 closely as well, and this might look like the time to jump on it instead of waiting for Boxing Week. Just one question - how were you able to negotiate waiving the $35 connection fee as well, in addition to the $100 hardware credit from loyalty?

Seems like that was just an ongoing blanket promotion already for the connection charge from what the loyalty rep said.
