Wrinkle on arm rest of new leather sofa, is this gonna cure itself over time?

Update: after a couple months, the wrinkle actually heals itself, and no longer visible.

Hey guys, would like to hear your opinion on this one.

Received a new leather/loveseat set, while loveseat seem fine, the sofa's arm rest does show wrinkles/creases. I was told that this should ease over time, what do you guys think?

Thanks.

I don't think it will fix itself. It would be different if the foam was constantly pushing it out. I can recommend you use the product below to keep you couches soft and clean. It might help to smooth the crease out but not tighten up the leather. Our couches are 10+ years old and looks brand new. I use this product 2-3 times per month.

Did you get it like that or did it happen after using it? Some leathers stretch more than others.

Sadly, that will never correct itself. The leather was not stapled correctly during assembly. Or, depending on how long you've had it, is the armrest constantly in use? Forearm on the armrest while using a mouse with laptop? Perhaps the foam underneath has broken down prematurely which could be repaired.

Try using the leather protectant for leather seats in cars. When you rub that stuff in with a cloth ... try stretching it. It should work ... do it weekly for about a month. and see if it disappears.

This will not work. Do not do this. If anything, any leather product would make the material either dry out or worse - more malleable. You can't "unstretch" leather.

Thanks for the replies, guys, This is a new set of sofa/loveseat, and I was told by the manufacturer that it will correct itself over time, and figured I wanted to hear from you guys.
I'll give it a few more days to see what happens before contacting the manufacturer.

I'm with the others. Leather doesn't shrink or tighten over time - in fact, with use and compaction of the foams and battings used, it goes the other way.
I always upvote respectful/helpful posts wherever I encounter them.

Agree with the others, the OP should expect this to only get worse with age, certainly not better. This is a case of the store/manufacturer trying to convince you to keep the sofa as opposed to dealing with the issue. If it were me I'd either insist on a replacement or at the very least a decent discount (even then, only if that particular part of the sofa was not terribly visible like facing a wall/window).

I have 1 that had a similar fold which led to early wearing of the surface and eventually a hole.

I regret not doing something about it when I noticed the fold as now am out of luck.
