Wrongly taxed by employer resolution ?

So my employer has taxed me incorrectly.
Now that I am planning to file my taxes; how can I rectify that ?

Is it by just entering my gross pay, CRA will decide how much I should have paid & refund the overcharged amount ?

Yes you are right. On your T4 you should have a box that shows your total taxes paid from your payslips in 2018 that will either result in a refund or a payment to CRA (depending on if you have other income sources).

Be sure to update your TD1 now so they don't keep deducting more money than necessary.

I assumed you were issued a T4 & you are talking about the numbers in box 22 - tax deducted, box 18 - EI, box 16 - CPP on your T4, then *no*.
You need to enter *all* the numbers on your T4 as is ( not just the gross - T4 box 14 )
Any certified tax software will then be able to determine if your deductions were too much ( or too little)

If it is other numbers on T4, probably your employer need to fix.
You should expect your employer also upload your T4 numbers directly to CRA
( Those tax slips are viewable under My Account on CRA )
