I ordered this phone (32GB) last Saturday when it was in "backordered" status with no expected delivery date (I was in no hurry, and orders were being accepted). It came back in stock on Tuesday and got it delivered on Thursday.

Super phone for the price. It's Android One so android updates come in almost monthly. I think I had to apply 4-5 monthly patches to get it up-to-date and then Android Pie came up after that.

The phone has been out for a while but this is NOT old stock, the box label had a very recent build date on it. (and yes, it's shrink wrapped and also sealed with those circle tape security seals).

I ordered the phone (32 Android One version) early January when it was out of stock. Got it earlier this week. Seems like a good phone for 250 CDN taxes and shipping included. Updated to android 9 after 5 updates or so.

New guy question (well, new to buying phones that aren't part of the plan)....any worries about buying a phone that came out in 2017? Always worried I'm too far behind. Any issues with screen burn-in that anyone knows about? My Moto G4 had screen burn-in in the first week I had it, and I am not a heavy cellphone user.

Should work fine with major carriers like Rogers?

Actually, the 32GB is available for ordering at the $164.99USD price again since yesterday but is still backordered (my guess it'll be in stock tomorrow morning). The 64 GB sterling Blue one is in stock ($224.99 USD) though.

It might be for you depending how you use your phones (do you keep lots of tabs open in your browser, multiple apps running, heavy game player?). For me it wasn't worth the extra $100 Cdn (duties are a little higher for the 64GB/4GB version for the 32 GB/1GB but I don't do much of the above simultaneously).

I've just called to Motorola. They don't have international warranty. So a defected device purchased in US cannot be fixed in Canada.
Any thoughts guys?

Yes anything Motorola (and many other companies) can do to try and force us to buy at the inflated Canadian price. Moto x4 at amazon.ca e.g. is 380 plus tax for 32gb. Price dropped in usa to $190 for 32gb-US funds.

I wouldn't be too worried as it's only 1-yr warranty anyway but how close do you live to the border? You could always mail it from there using one of the Package receiving co's/UPS store if a repair is needed.

Toronto area. But you're right. It's actually not a bad idea. Thank you.

I got the blue-silver one, seems like a good phone. Its smooth and fast and the color is really nice...unlike most of the silver / black phone these days. And because it have Android One, it doesn't have much of junk app on it and supports Wifi Calling. The battery lasts longer than my Pixel XL which looks like is slowing down.
Only thing I am not happy with is the camera quality, pictures are always very dark.
