Not a bad deal for $229, but I'm going to hold off and see if there are any better bundles available with a couple of games included.

Hot if its just the console, flaming hot if its a bundle!
When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

Wow, that's a hot deal in CAD. Wonder what Sony will be doing,...
My last and final digital game I purchased at PSN from those Sony Devils was on November 22, 2020 - Ban that Sorny!

Damn.... great deal, but not worth the upgrade for me from my OG xbox even though I have a 4k TV. I'd get the X but $600...

And tbh, 1080p already looks amazing
this site makes me save and spend most of my $$$

Given that the PS4 will be selling for $199 US, I predict it'll be $249 or lower here in Canada.

Thinking about getting this or a Playstation 4 for my family. Have to look into which is more family oriented for 10 and 12 year old boys and their old man.

The Xbox One and the PS4 have similar game libraries, but with more exclusives on the PS4. Reportedly, the Xbox One has 1300 games (150 which are exclusive), and the PS4 has 1600 (500 are exclusive) . But more may not be better. You may not care for the exclusives on the PS4, maybe you would prefer the exclusives of the XBOX One.

I think it's no secret that the true "family" oriented system is the Nintendo Switch. However, if the decision is limited between the XBox One and PS4, I think it boils down to the exclusive game list you're more interested in. I think it's splitting hairs which is more family oriented.

If your children have friends with these consoles, it may be worth knowing what they are so that your children can online play with their friends. PS4 has the greatest user base right now. All of my friends have PS4s including me, except for 1 friend with an Xbox One.

Just another note: The other benefit of knowing what system they have is the ability to borrow games from each other.

Thanks for the reply. I am slightly aware that the Nintendo Switch is the true "family" system but good luck convincing my boys to get a switch. They seem more interested in the games on the Playstation 4 or the Xbox One.

Great insight in checking out what their friends have. I think most of their friends have a Playstation at home and it would be nice for them to be able to play online with them.

Pretty sure the PS4 routinely beats XB1S sales, so not sure they will do that much there.

I think Sony needs to be aggressive in the high end market though, XB1X has some impressive specs, would like to see the PS4 Pro try to undercut the price in a big way.

Xbox One S 500GB for $229 (260 all in) is a great deal if you don't have a 4k tv.

I've been watching the US deals and the best i've seen so far (Amazon.com, MS Store and Gamestop ads havent been revealed yet) is Kohls for $190 USD (also comes with $45 Kohls cash). With NY state sales tax and exchange rate its about 265 CAD. And if you get dinged at the border another 35 CAD.

It'll be interesting to see if any other Canadian retailers offer a better deal.
Let’s be honest, most people looking at buying an Xbox are just going to go for the one s even if they have a 4K tv.

This but I'm also eyeing the X, preferably with COD WWII.
