[Amazon.ca] XFX Radeon R9 Fury X $565.46 + tax w/ Free Shipping

Hottest sale on Fury X yet. Amazon says it's 31% off but in reality these are usually found in the $900-1000 range in Canada.

For anyone considering a graphics upgrade this is basically the best 1440p-level deal that you're going to get.

I don't see the logic in buying this when the msrp of the gtx 1070 is much lower plus it has double the VRAM and a newer architecture. These fury cards are worth $400 tops and even at that price it's debatable.

Quoting the msrp is irrelevant if you cannot find one at that price. The cheapest 1070's available are currently $550+tax+shipping.

This fury x is cheaper, quieter, and faster for dx12 titles. So it's certainly worth more than $400.

That said, I think I'd still rather get the GTX 1070 solely because it's newer and more power efficient.

At $560 I'd say this is a warm deal. AMD really should have dropped the msrp of these to $499cdn already to stay competitive, but they probably don't want to cannibalize rx 480 sales.

A mini ITX build with limited space?

A mini ITX build wouldn't have room for the radiator unit. You are thinking of the Nano.

I like and use AMD, but I can't get behind this deal.
I'd be surprised if you could backup your claim of quieter and faster.

For the same price the 1070 is a newer archetecture, and a proven performer with lower TDP (power consumption).
This is a good buy from Xfire though.

The Fury X has a lot of upside potential with DX12 and Vulkan. However, I'm not sure its worth gambling $570 on.

It's water cooled, it WILL be quieter

And it will be better for Vulkan/DX12 titles

Agreed... I am hopeful that AMD can use this dx12 advantage and turn it into a market lead.

Without competition Nvidia will charge $39 999 for the next Titan...

Personally, i'll wait for the GTX 1080 TI & the VEGA gpus that should be coming in soon.

I'm pretty sure they meant faster for dx12/vulkan.

In theory, the radiator doesn't need to be inside the case.

As long as it's shipped by Amazon. Look for the Prime icon.

Not worth at this price. Got a 1070 at 530$. Yeah, Nvidia sucks at dx12 and vulkan but when dx12 will become a thing next gen card will come out and outclass those of todays. Vulkan is nice but there's only Doom right now so unless you play Doom all day everyday. Spend you cash on Vega or 1070. Winking Face

Where do you get it at that price?
Shop around, keep your eyes open for availability.

The Gigabyte Windforce OC, ASUS Turbo and MSI Aero were available at that price a few times. Notably at Direct Canada, NCIX and sometimes Newegg.

Winforce OC at newegg.ca. I didn't want blower style cooler that was 520$. The problem is that you can't really find them in stock. :(
