YMMV Lowes: $661 or less - GSW 50 US Gallon Natural Gas Water Heater B5531

YMMV but I think this is the lowest I've seen in a long while?? Now if I can only figure out when the next 20% off installation services sale happens...(Lowe's sucks at advertising these IMO)

- CYBER25 coupon brings it to ~$711
- Spend and save coupon may pop up which stacks with CYBER25 i.e. additional $50 off $575 will bring it to ~$661 (Note. the water heater only counts as $711 for spend and save so don't use a coupon which requires you to spend more than $711)
- If you happen to need a major appliance, add $698 or more for free shipping (doesn't count towards spend and save amounts because of save the tax on appliances - so make sure you click yes to the spend and save discount before you add appliances / other ineligible items)

Doesn't look like you can stack promo codes. It's either the $70 off or 25% off.

Taxes and pickup total is $804 for me in Mississauga.

You can indeed stack but the water heater only counts as $711 (after 25% off) so make sure you use the $50 off $575 instead of $70 off $900 coupon.

@bluegreenshxt Thanks for the heads up. Been looking for one for a while. Do you know if that model is a 'direct vent'? I didn't see it in the description.
Do you know how to trigger the 50off575 coupon?
Can't seem to get it.

Does anyone know how much base cost to install through Lowes and whether they contact reliance and arrange for disposal?

The GSW is power vent. The Whirlpool is not (you have to vent through the roof)

I think install is something like $350 before 20% off at Lowes (if you don't need to update your vent pipes). Believe you have to call reliance (who I'm really pissed off at because they refused to come and service our rental - apparently we're only paying a monthly hardware rent with 'no service agreement'...so my payback for this is probably only 4 years...LOL)

I can't seem to trigger the coupon now either (but I already checked out - not sure how the logic works.)

I bought this last year. Just know if you are switching to this type ofvent, this fan can be heard quite loudly. For me, all throufht the house and through any open window. That said, I'm used to it now. Not sure about the neighbours.

Also you need an electrical outlet for the fan

so I have a new to me house. it has a reliance unit and I have yet to get my first bill from them. (they initially didn't set up my move in request so I'm expecting a retro bill soon back dated 5 months ouch)

I really want out of this rental unit.

also can't figure out how to get this other 50 off 575 to work.
Saving money on things I don't need since 2009. thanks RFD

Any input in the tankless GSW units? Or should I just stick with Rinnai? Reliance is jacking my rental rate again so this is my opportunity to get out of my contract with them.

I got two GSW units, well recommended on red flags when I asked for brands. Been a solid 7 months with two units and 0 issues (me and uncle got it at same time) based on our rent just need 6 years to break even

Just FYI for install, if you need any additional work done don't go with Lowe's. Employee at store said it would cost 300 and 100 or so to move the tank two feet based on the pictures after discounts, and said we didn't need to bother with a inspection. They wanted 1200 total to move it when they came (unit was 1100 after tax) we found a outside installer who did the whole thing for 450

My uncle didn't need it moved and was fine with the 300 so he could get the extra warranty

Got mine for $730.XX + taxes last year. Great deal!

No more monthly rental fees makes it an even better deal.
