Are you going back to the gym?

For those that have been working out at home for the past 18 months, some of whom have built out a home gym, are you gonna go back? Or are you happy to stick with your home gym?

I had been building my home gym for years. I haven't had a membership in a long time, which has been good since I am a shift worker in a small town. That said, I did periodically go to a gym in Calgary, I've started back at BJJ and will go o the same one in Calgary again, in between mat time.

Will be doing both. I got Dumbbells & a Bench @ home. Will be going to the gym for certain excercise.

Only doing this because my Gym membership is $10 a month. If it was more than $25. I'll stay at home.

will be doing outdoor mainly (running, walking) and may start to go back to gym, like once a week to work on the weights.

Was back this morning for the first time. Was able to do a HIIT circuit on 4 different cardio machines, something I cant do at home. Will be in tomorrow for arm's/abs day and Thursday for lower body.

Interesting, the responses are pretty evenly split. I'm in the staying home camp myself but the gym was also where I would socialize and meet new friends. Hell, about 2/3 of my friends I met at the gym so I might need a new activity for that going forward.

I have a pretty good setup in my basement, but I'm still going to the gym. Just not daily anymore.

I do all my powerlifts and cardio at home now. But I go to the gym for all "accessory" body part exercises, and for movements that use cables, free weights, or machines. Also to have the occasional change of environment/motivation from others. So I only go to the gym about 3 times a week now.

I'm holding out until my YMCA Health and Fitness Centre at least allows showers.
It's about 15km away from me, and I'd either be cycling there or using TTC.
My fingers are crossed that they adapt a vaccinated only policy, but I doubt it would happen.
The things I miss most are - Steam Room, Sauna, Jacuzzi, none of which will be back until who knows when.
Hence why I'd love vaccinated only. Would not feel comfy in a smaller space otherwise.

You realize vaccinated also spread the virus right? And they're actually more dangerous because they think they are superior plus don't display symptoms.

As a heads up - my views on both vaccination and Covid are mostly based on discussions I've had with a lifelong close friend from the US who has a PhD and is a geneticist.

Based on what you've stated here, I'm not even gonna bother to waste my time and energy explaining my position. In short - my stance is based on lowering risk, which is backed up by science. I can't help but facepalm that anyone would believe that vaccinated only policies would actually increase risk.
