Your opinion on Air Canada, Air Transat and Chorus Aviation?

Depends on what your end point is...

Chorus is basically a dividend play as much of their cost is paid by Air Canada as per their agreement. Unfortunately, Air Canada is also their largest customer and Air Canada has a habit of breaking up with suppliers in a bad way (see Aeroplan and aircraft maintenance agreements). They also have had very little stock growth in the past few years as they really haven't been able to grow outside of the AC umbrella. Recently, Chorus had a new secondary offering which drove the price of the stock downwards and then it sunk even lower. Luckily, I got out just before the offering.

Air Canada is growth king if you are looking at stock price. Even from just a few years ago, they went from zero to hero. However, having said that, full-service passenger airlines have been more of a trade than a long term holding as they typically get into price wars with the competition and blow each other's brains out in the process. With the recent difficulties at Westjet (system failures, unionization, and all around bad press as well as a questionable discount airline attempt), AC may benefit the most in the next few years.

Air Transit is basically a stay out of that stock play. With both AC and WJ looking to get deeper into the low cost area and increasing their vacation sales, Air Transit may get killed as those two battle it out.

Another vote for AC. It has traded very nicely last year or two. Until it breaks down technically I like it.
