Youtube and kids

Hi everyone. I have a question about youtube content management.

Currently kids only watch disney+ and specific content I purchase etc with supervision on how much time they use them for. I try to avoid youtube due to its wild west nature and if you have watched "elsegate" on reddit, you will find how out of control it is.

But some of their friends watch some channels that they got exposed to while visiting etc and bug me for letting them watch youtube. Is there a way to block everything on youtube except for certain channels only? I tried the family link app from google but it only opts out of channels you find offensive. You cannot opt-in to content.

Thanks.

The battle is already lost, if their friends watch it they'll find a way around you to get access to it.

I think he wants a way to allow those channels but block everything else...

Probably
His question is legit, don't think it breaks any rules

But I don't know why need another account to ask this question, it's not an embarrassing questions

nah, if kids can't have YouTube, parent can't have RFD. They got him/her banned.

On a serious note, YouTube is the wild west but safest is to spend all screen time with kids. Easy solution.

Them either create your own pre-screened playlist, turn off autoplay next and limit their screen time. Can't have them just wander YouTube aimlessly.

i was also looking into this yesterday, it is surprising that Youtube does not allow blocking of channels, the most they offer is not to recommend a channel.
