You could also join the Facebook group called YYZ deals and it tells you daily flight deals coming in and out of Toronto

Obviously you have to log in with your Facebook but there are deals like this there at least every other day.
Literally every month you can get a round trip to Portugal for around $200

I don't recall seeing a deal for RT for $200 to portugal. That would be amazing.

This time last year my friend took a round trip to Lisbon and she paid $240ish - it was a steal and the tickets went really quickly :)

But this was just posted today, take off is from NYC but you get the idea.

But YYZ Deals has been a game changer for me with saving on flights that and Google Flights.
I've also noticed that taking off on a Wednesday instead of a Friday is usually cheaper too.

According to Google Streetview, Lisbon Street, Sydney, Australia, looks nothing like TrickyWalnut's photo.

C$775 is an amazing price for Australia. I missed my chance when it was briefly available from NYC.

Just keep in mind it is Fall there now. Also, Australia is a first world country and has first world prices. Intra-Australian flights aren't that cheap, so remember why you are going (aka, The Great Barrier Reef, the Sydney Opera House or kangaroos).

Slowtyper,

Yes, sorry, forgot the smiley face. :)

On a more serious note, going to the beach in Sydney, Australia, is apparently significantly less enjoyable (1) than it used to be. So going during their Fall/Winter might make sense after all.

1. Google Why nobody sunbathes topless anymore

I figure Cairns is where you want to be, so you can visit he The Great Barrier Reaf. Factor getting there and back in your budget.
