Zoomer: Port number out and back in again?

I’m with zoomer right now. I have 1 line currently. I want to get a second line for the time being and eventually want to close the other ( which is on a expiring 24 month contract ). Mainly to take advantage of the 100$ activation promo. Now, can I port out my phone number and then port it back in on the new line? I doubt zoomed would directly swap numbers over from one line to the other without porting hence my question.

Why don't your ask zoomer if they will port from account to account. If not you can port out and in.

I did. Can’t seem to get a good answer and they can’t guarantee I wouldn’t lose my number. I’m just going to port the number out and then back in. Any idea on the cheapest way to go about this?
