New Promo Plan 7GB, Unltd Talk Txt $45 + Free Phone & $100 Activation Credit

Deal Link:
Retailer:
Zoomer Wireless
Looks like Zoomer has discontinued their 6GB promo plan and since introduced a new 7GB plan for $45 for the month of October that qualifies folks for their higher priced devices.

Zoomer operates on the Rogers Wireless network

The new price plan ($50-$5 disc) means you can now qualify for a $0 Galaxy A51 or Pixel 3A. Zoomer also has a referral program where you can get an additional $50 when you are referred.

FAQs:

1. How do I sign up for this awesome plan?

Speak with a Zoomer rep by calling in. Chat is currently down. They will perform a credit check when signing you up. If you have poor credit, you can put in a $150 deposit and still get this plan! Zoomer will then ship you phone and SIM card. Delivery usually takes 2-3 days but YMMV. Don't forget to get a referral from a current Zoomer customer as you will each get a $50 bill credit (YMMV)

2. Is this plan available on BYOD?

No. Plans listed above are only available on 2 year contract. If you want the cheapest buyout option get the lowest value phone ($100) as an emergency back up phone to sell/donate/trade in. Your buyout cost would then be $100÷24xmonths left on your contract. Or alternatively you can get the highest resale value phone to reduce your overall costs.

3. What phone is best to get with this plan?

Depends on your needs and long term plan. Personally I got the flip phone for a low committment option and "buy out".

4. Can I use my own phone with Zoomer?

Yes. Zoomer sends you a 3 in 1 SIM that will fit into full sized, micro, or nano SIM card slots. Rogers locked devices and unlocked devices will all work under the Zoomer network of you have a phone already you would prefer to use.

5. What type of SIM does Zoomer send out to new customers?

3 in 1 SIM which can be punched into full, micro or nano.

6. How long is this plan/bonus referral available until?

November 30 but as always YMMV.

7. Does Zoomer have any retail locations?

No. But they have the best customer service of any company I personally have been with and I've been with quite a few. Activate a chat session to chat online or give them a call to sign up/ask any questions. Reps are local from Canada, quick, super friendly and knowledgible.

8. What happens after my 2 year contract is over?

You can either sign another 2 year commitment and get another subsidized device or just continue on with the plan you have (including, of course, the bonus data) at the same price - bonus minutes / data does not go away and the price does not go up at all.

In-market or retention?
FYI, I pay $40/13GB and $35/10GB with Koodo, which are not in-market plans.

Don't know. Just called and said I want a better deal. I was trying to get them to match Bell's 25GB for $45 a month back. This is the best I've had with Rogers so far.

You just said you called in so it’s a retention plan meaning not everyone can get your deal. You can’t compare a retention plan with an in-market plan.

This includes a $100 Activation Credit + a free Pixel 3A/Galaxy A51 + $50 in referral credit. The effective monthly price is far lower with those 3 extras taken into consideration.

Your plan is good but I believe those $50 plans are BYOD.

You're clearly neglecting that facts that Robellus has rate fluctuations despite whatever deal you get, unless the price is "guaranteed for two years", which, even then would mean that you have to negotiate (more like wringing water from a stone) an equivalent plan for the same price in 2 years time from those greedy Robbers. Not to mention all the thrown in bonuses you get with Zoomer that others mentioned like the $50 referral credit, activation credit and free phone etc.

Not really, most other providers no longer subsidize phones, they simply finance them to you (adding in to the plan price each month). When you factor in the cost of the phone, the $50 referral credit, $100 activation credit and $45/mo plan the actual per month price over 2 years would be anywhere between $15 and $39/mo (depending on how much you value the phone

This seems pretty decent if you need a new phone isn't it? The Galaxy A51 is no slouch and has 3 years promised updates. In any case, it's nice to have seen phone plan prices decrease over the years. I remember when $60 for 6GB was the holy grail of plans. There's better plans but many of those are also not attainable at the moment.
