In my case, I don't mind getting locked in for 2 years. But give me a decent device option. Zoomer has really stepped up on the plan side, but they are basically one rung above Speakout when it comes to devices. P20 lite for $150 is a bit much IMO.

Reason:
Zoomer will be competing with Rogers and Fido plans if Rogers let Cityfone/Zoomer to provide decent devices.

Public Mobile $34 15GB, $11 250MB, 2x $5 50min/50text, $0 FPL home phone,
Fido $5 4GB plan with a free tablet.

Just same Chatr, Public Mobile or Lucky Mobile.

It is just carrier's strategy and Rogers has full control over Cityfone/Zoomer.

I like Zoomer data overage is in 1MB increment. Therefore, if I over only 1 byte, I pay only 5 cents/MB(market plan) or 2 cents/MB(loyalty plan).
For the first and second tiers Big-3 provider, you are paying $7/100MB - 200MB. If you are over by 1MB, it is the difference between 2 or 5 cents and $7.

I feel like this plan deserves its own thread.

400 minutes
Unlimited after 6, weekends
4gb data LTE
Called ID, Voicemail

*After 6 months loyalty offers unlimited talk
**Must sign 2yr contract

*Must call or talk in chat to get the offer.

I just switched to it myself, easy process. Was with them before, they have good customer service.

Contact hours and options,

Very true. It had been a great two years esp after the first 6 months.

There are lots of rants about the free phone as over prices etc.

No one should join zoomer for the phone but the overall service. After 1 year we have 4gb for $36 and unlimited minutes with great customer service.

Also if you have a vast network of friends the referral system is fabulous too.

I tried getting them to switch to 4gb but they said I had to be with them 6 months before I can get it.

embguy - the agent said if I moved to $36 loyalty plan I will get unlimited CW calls but the data will be 2GB or something like that not 4GB. What is the base data plan for $36 loyalty plan? Care to list?

The Zoomer rep you talked to was wrong.
Before Sep 11, 2018, the $36 loyalty plan has only 2GB data.
From Sep 11, 2018 onward, the $36 loyalty plan has extra 2GB data added for a total of 4GB data.

Read this thread for details: https://forums.redflagdeals.com/zoomer- ... s-2221893/

You can call back to confirm the $36 loyalty 4GB plan with another Zoomer rep.

Translation: I want referral credits! There's already an ongoing thread my friend. zoomer-wireless-zoomer-36-plan-4gb-data ... s-2167926/

Time for a merge!
I didn't see it on hot deals, stop tryna be smart. No1 is reading an ongoing discussion which started in feb to find out zoomer updated their plans.

Can confirm, got the same plan last Friday. Choice for free phone was between the Samsung J3 and the Motorola. There was the LG but required an upfront fee.

Rep mentioned the additional data will only last until Sep 27.

It will be extended and again for a while until their competitors stop giving out $35 5GB or similar plan

Going off topic a bit, if this plan is available without waiting 6 months, then definitely the next Koodo migration deal could be better than the current one. The gloves are off so it seems. There is competition in the wireless arena.

The base $36 plan with 2 years contract has 1GB data. Add bonus 3GB to get total 4GB data.

I have this strong feeling public will launch an unlimited data plan on the 3g network in the next 2-3yrs.
