The $36/4GB plan is still available, but with 400 daytime minutes.

Because now I see people only talking about $40 plan.
The $40 plan is the same as the $36 plan in terms of airtime minutes and data. It's just that if you sign up for a 2 year contract with the free phone, you get 10% off $40 which is $36.

The plan has always been 400mins if you sign up for the 2 year contract. You can switch to the loyalty plan after 6 months which turns into unlimited minutes instead of 400.

You should try giving them a call. Depending on how much "right after" (a day or two?), maybe they will give you the $50. Who knows, they've done crazier stuff before.

I'm on the loyalty plan with unlimited minutes, but I'm up for renewal next month, can I renew into another loyalty plan or does it revert to 400 minutes then I have to change it 6 month down to road back to loyalty plan? Or is this a stupid question?

If you do not get any new phone, you can choose any loyalty plan. If you do not do anything, you will keep your loyalty plan on month-to-month.

your loyalty plan will continue as it is if you do not sign a new contract but you will not get a new phone unless you sign a new contract.

As long as you are happy with your current phone you do not need to do anything.

Yes, there is data overage charge.

No, they cannot put a stop when you reach your limit. You may want to set the limit on your own phone.
