If they offered it free, wouldn't the next tier be the better choice?
To get the A50 for free, the next higher plan is $50/month ($45 after 10% discount). That's $9/month more for 24 months = $216 over 2 years. So paying $150 up front saves you $66.

Is this an expired deal now? I see no mention of $100 credit any more. The referral didn't go down so is still $50+$50 though.

I just switched with zoomer nov 28 from Virgin, great customer service so far and after 6 months I will get loyalty plan to unlimited calling not just the 6pm to 7 am on the evenings or I can just pay $40.52 more and get the unlimited now and then at 6 months in June 2020 I can just pay $36 again and get unlimited calling. It’s just the first 6 months you have to be frugal about calling as you can easily go over the 400 daytime minutes.

Chose 36$/mo plan with new A50 for 150$ upfront.
Was offered A50 for free if going with next tier plan with unlimited minutes but declined .
Received A50 (shipped to Toronto) within a week from BC.
Usually going up to the next tier, the A50 would be $100

Yes. It sounded though like the poster was offered a $0 A50 with the $45 (40.50) plan.

Looks like the current incentive is now split $100 between referrer and the person being referred. So $50 each.

I think that's how its been for the promos. Its $25 each that is normal.

Is it guarantee 4gb after six months ? I don’t want to sign up and than it’s only 3GB :(

There are no guarantees, it's an undocumented loyalty plan. However, it has been constant.

Your best bet is to open a chat, ask what their current loyalty plans are after 6 months and then make a decision if you want to sign up or not.

Just got my Key2 LE and SIM card today. Ordered Dec 30, received Jan 2.

Popped the SIM card into my Pixel 2XL, and thought I noticed less signal strength. So I did a speed test, and then compared to my Koodo pre-paid SIM. Seems like Zoomer is about half the speed of Koodo.

I don't know if it's a Rogers vs Telus thing, or Zoomer vs Rogers, but the numbers don't lie.

I really only use mobile data for browsing and Google maps, so I'll see if the speed is actually a problem. I'll be trying it out for a while before committing my phone number with a port-out.
