Zoomer Wireless - $36/mth for 5gb 800 anytime minutes, $100 activation credit plus $50 referral credit

Deal Link:
Expiry:
March 31, 2020
Retailer:
Zoomer Wireless
Mod Edit: Do not offer or ask for referrals on the forum. Do not suggest users PM you for more info.

Zoomer Wireless $100 activation promo has now been extended to Mar 31, 2020 (Free SIM and No Activation Fee)

This activation credit can be stacked in addition to the $50 referral credit (please note existing Zoomer account holders have referral codes, please do NOT ask for referral codes in the forum as it's prohibited by RFD)

IMO The best value is the $36 per month plan which includes the following:

Rogers Network Canada-wide minutes and data
5GB full speed LTE Data (existing clients on the $36 4GB data are only eligible for this new 5GB data if you have activated your account within the last 30 days.
800 Anytime Minutes (NO unlimited evenings and weekends)
UNLIMITED Incoming Text Messages
UNLIMITED Text & MMS (Canada/INTL)

After 6 months you will be eligible for loyalty plan which includes unlimited minutes. Just need to request it after 6 months via online chat or call.

There is now also a new plan $40.50 per month 6GB with unlimited minutes

I have been with Zoomer since 2019, great service and no issues whatsoever with coverage.

Thread Summary
1. In order to qualify for the $100 activation credit and $50 referral credit, you must sign a 2 year term contract, not month to month.
2. If you are looking to open or transfer multiple lines, you can start to refer others with your own referral code once you activate your line. The referee must open a brand new profile to receive the $100 activation credit, and you will each receive $50 referral credit.
3. You can request to NOT have the SIM card put in if you want to use your own phone. Zoomer will ALWAYS open the box to ensure that the phone is in working order before shipping, regardless if you ask to not open the box.
4. Loyalty plan is available after 6 months, on the $36 loyalty plan you will get unlimited minutes.
5. If you must have unlimited minutes to start, some new signups have reported success to get unlimited minutes with the $40.50 plan (YMMV) and pick a phone that comes free on the $36 plan, after 6 months you can request to change down to the $36 loyalty plan without incurring any charges.
6. Zoomer runs on Rogers network, data is full speed 4G LTE. If you're using your own phone, restart your phone after you put in the new SIM card from Zoomer
7. iMessage works on iPhone
8. Currently no RCS messaging, VoLTE support or VoWiFi
9a. Zoomer Wireless has a 30-day guarantee.
9b. Porting in a phone number to Zoomer Wireless from another carrier, can be requested during activation or several days/weeks later. This allows you to test out the service in your home/work/commute with the Zoomer Wireless assigned number.
10. Bonus data/minutes/text messages offered during the activation of a 2-year promotional term, are kept at the end of the 2 year term
11. At the end of the 2 year term, you automatically become a monthly subscriber. You may choose to renew for another 2 year term and get another phone
12. Scotia Visa Infinite has been reported to recognize monthly payments as recurring and provides a 4% cash back
13. Extended coverage included, see their Network Coverage page. Scroll to the bottom to the 'Most Asked Questions' section to read about Extended Coverage.
14. Data will NOT stop, you will however receive text message alert at 90% and 100%. Android OS has the function to stop data, see Set Data Limit, iOS does not.
15. Zoomer does NOT have a roam like home automatic out of country roaming (and their add ons are pricey, better to go with ROAM, etc)
16. The activation process can be started online, but to complete the activation process it requires a call with the Zoomer Wireless CSR.
17a. The Zoomer Wireless service is tied to the SIM card, not the phone you get with the 2 year contract.
17b. The phone that comes with the 2 year contract can be sold; it does not have to be used for Zoomer Wireless service to work.
17c. The Zoomer Wireless SIM card can used with iPhones.
18. You can enable Hotspot on your phone to share the connection with other devices, the data used will count towards your data plan
19. Free SIM card and $0 activation fee
20. Data and Minutes usage counts from the 9th of the current month to the 8th of the following month. When you first activate the service both will be prorated until the 8th of the following month.

Love Zoomer! Uses the Rogers network in the GTA, beautiful reception. Came from Freedom which was a disaster.

For the lazy...

Also a Zoomer wireless user for more than 2 years. I've convinced majority of my family member on this plan.
Works well in Vancouver.

Zoomer has the best customer service IMO, however they aren't 24/7, not sure if other providers are but as a night owl this can be annoying. Savings are worth it though.

Not all 'resellers' are the same, we tried Petro-canada Mobile which is also Rogers network but terrible coverage. Side by side with a Zoomer (nearly full) and no bars on Petro.

The Samsung A70 is a very nice non-flagship phone. The build quality is a little worse compared to the S8/S9 etc., but still good. It's top end of mid-range. It also has Samsung Pay + MST (you can use it to swipe) which is one of the main reasons i'm sticking with Samsung nowadays.

switched from Bell and never looked back. love the service and the price. it is great for what it is, and you don't have to dread negotiating with the big guys for a discount if you renew for another 2 years. I'm pretty happy that I just have to pay each month the 36$ + tax and not have to worry about the price going up after a 2 year contract.

They are quite literally Rogers, just another discount brand like Fido.

The A70 is free with a $60 plan. That will cost around $350 for the $36 plan

IMHO Zoomer is not a reseller, they're a brand under Cityfone, and Cityfone is bought by Rogers in 2010, so essentially they are part of Rogers just like Fido.

Zoomer is Just a different brand under the same Rogers umbrella that's all, similar to how Loblaws have so many different banners under them like Superstore, No Frills, T&T, Independent Grocers, Wholesale Club, Zehrs, etc etc.)

Yeah I agree, was kind of surprised when I signed up and saw a 'CityFone' as the network on the iPhone. Guess it's shorter than Zoomer Wireless lol.

Public Mobile $90/90 days 6GB + unltd pro talk + ultd text (Grandfathered)

This deal seems to keep getting extended. Is it really a promo?
