Thank you, do you know new phone coming with new sim or we can use the old one? Meaning new phone will come in sealed box?
Not sure what happens right now but in the past Zoomer has always sent a new sim with a new phone. People have frequently asked that the sim just be taped to the box of the new phone and that it remain sealed. Sometime that is exactly what took place - sometimes they opened the box, checked the contents and inserted the sim YMMV

Perhaps someone has more recent experience and can comment?

Based on my past experiences with getting new phones, you'll get a new Sim card with your phone but if you already having a working Sim you don't need to change it and you can just pop the old Sim into the new phone.

No issues in Scarborough/Markham area in my experience, several phones with Zoomer in family. Signal is quite strong since Rogers has always had great signal in this area.

Im guessing this promo will last until black friday at least? I want to see what other carriers are going to offer. And yea the $36 plan looks like the best deal.

I believe that when it became mandatory to provide all phones unlocked (about a year ago), sim cards were installed to prepare existing inventory. New inventory is probably all factory unlocked and I suspect no need to open boxes.

Zoomer phones are Rogers phones. Yes, OS update is from Rogers.

Are these black Friday deals actually better than the regular everyday offer?
I don't see the diff, or perhaps I'm blind?

I've been comparing the LG G5 (currently have it), A10e and Moto g7 play

although the G5 is 3 years older than the other 2, it seems like a better device other than 2. Better camera, more ram.

am I missing something? The Blackberry doesn't really interested me, Gboard seems better than a physical keyboard

(the reason I'm asking is my G5 power button has failed and wondering if I should get a warranty fix, or just upgrade)

The $36 plan seems to be the one most mentioned here. 400 minutes & 4 Gig seems good enough for many people (including me). However, I'm thinking that the $40.50 plan seems a bit better, not so much because it's 500 minutes, but because it has "UNLIMITED Incoming minutes". I guess if the Loyalty program kicks in for Unlimited Minutes after 6 months, then it won't make any difference for the rest of the contract.

I think the blackberry was suggested for its resale value only. I guess there is a need for it still at some workplaces.

wow, you're right. a quick search on Kijiji prices for the Blackberry show normally selling price of $300-400, which is significantly higher than the other $0 choices, Moto G7 and Samsung A10e
I would expect getting rid of a Blackberry with the keyboard is harder than the more conventional Moto or Samsung though.

Yea the LG G5 is way better. Even though it's older is still a flagship phone, whereas the A10e and G7 Play are budget phones. For reference, I went from a LG G3 to the G7 Play and other than the battery life and updated OS everything else wasn't any better.
