Does anyone have a short throw projector?

Went into a rabbit hole last night (...this is when it literally starts) and watched a few reviews of the Hisense L5 and L9. Think Ive convinced myself to go this route in the future but I must ask: does anyone use one on a daily basis? Thinking of having one for the basement or a Blacked out upper level room

Would love to hear some real life feedback for daily use. Im a sports+movie person. Think most of these suffer from not so deep Blacks but Hisense lets you pick between 2 screens for whatever is suitable for your use (for the L9)

You can checkout the recent threads from the Costco deal:

1. costco-hisense-100l5g-laser-tv-projecto ... 9-2542184/

2. costco-dead-hisense-100-laser-tv-projec ... f-2544665/

The benefit of these UST projectors with an ALR screen is that you don't need to install it in the basement or a blacked out room. It works perfectly fine in a sunlit room, although it'll certainly perform better in the dark. However, total darkness is not necessary.

For the L9G, I don't believe there's a choice between screens here in Canada. The one we get is the Cinema screen (which professional reviewers generally prefer).

I have the L9G placed in my brightly lit living room and the quality is acceptable for daytime use, although I mainly use it in the evening.

Yeah I think Im not gonna have my basement so itll be a dedicated upper level room

How far do you have your screen from the couch? I workout with a cheap projector with about 70in screen size while working out, but I cant imagine the 100in screen

Still waiting for it. I'd estimate around 12-15 feet away though. Bought it with the L9G during that crazy weekend Costco sale. Hope it'll be delivered soon.

The 120" would've been nice, but I'd have to modify the sound system as the speakers would get in the way.

these things have intrigued me. Basically it really does seem like the solution for the biggest possible picture without the old severe compromises of traditional projectors (placement, noise, brightness, bulb life

I picked up a regular TV this time but I'm thinking of replacing my old projector setup with one of these.
