Booked my AI last night for dec 8th travel. I got a good deal by waiting until inventory ran low. We had about 3-4 resorts in mind so whichever fit the bill, we pulled the trigger.

Where: ocean el faro from yow
Who: 2 + infant
Cost(total): $2091

Booked on escapes.ca for the $25 visa gift.

Punta? That's a really great price on a 5 star. Have fun! I literally just spent the $100 gc at Walmart which triggered me to check this thread lol.

surprised you don't have priceline.ca listed in the first post. I haven't gotten some really good deals there.

on a side note: looking for *cheap* last minute vacation from Dec 25th (Christmas day!) to 29th. Not found anything cheap yet.

it was sick, best resort so far that we been to but our previous has been only Cuba and Mexico. We also aim for < $1000 pp resorts and go during off-peak time.

During this pandemic time of the last 4 months, there were several deals available but no one was willing to go outside. Now a few countries opening their doors for tourists and Dubai, UAE is also among them.
Am I mistaken or are travel deals from Toronto as shitty as ever?

But beware that some of these flights don't exist. Just cross check with the airline.
You have to bring up the map. Its not very intuitive. Put in your departure point and 1 way travel date (return travel is too complicated) and get a rough idea of which destinations offer the best deals. Then punch in a few destinations and click the price graph to instantly see the range of pricing over the next few months. I've never seen another website come close to this level of efficiency. Its Google. What do you expect?

Try to encompass all nearby airports at both your origin and destination if you have the time and transportation. If you're in Toronto add Buffalo. Maybe even Ottawa and Montreal. Because you never know what will pop up. Also track the prices. And absolutely look at the Price Graph to see if a particular flight price was one in a million or somewhat regular. Sometime mistakes are made and the prices plummet briefly until they are corrected.

If you're traveling far think of it as a collection of hops from one major flight hub to another. Try to cultivate good relations with family/friends in those hubs. So useful for those overnight layovers. Who wants to try to sleep in an airport chair or lie down on a rock hard floor? It's doubtful you could collect enough discarded bubblewrap from airport stores that would make a hard floor comfortable. And if you got a low priced flight it will be ruined with one night at a grossly overpriced hotel near the airport or any hotel in a developed country. Even hostels cost so much more now because they are often so posh. Plus they're often far from the airport. If only airports would wake up and offer low priced sleeping pods right in the terminal. They could be pitch black, and soundproof for great quality sleep. And you could bring your valuables inside with you, like your laptop. They could charge $40/night and make a great profit as they could be stacked high and could house a lot of people. An alarm (for people without phones) could wake the most sound sleeper so they don't oversleep and miss their next flight. Traveling logic is a scarce commodity.

Since when do last minute deals ever work? I've always noticed the highest prices close to departure. Especially really last minute like within 2 days or so. And has anyone got Skiplagging to work from Canada? Their prices always seem to be the same or much higher than the normal stuff I get from Google Flights.

Has anyone booked flights through cheapticketdeals.com?i was looking to book tickets for 3 ppl in kayak and this was one of links presented. The tickets looked about 30% cheaper than booking through other site links from kayak for the same ticket class. Looking for some feedback.
