Yeah that’s what I did not know, whether it’s standard procedure or the rep was about to process a button to check.

Anyway Amex just came out with Preferred SimplyCash for $4,000 spending and there will be new Aeroplan Cards in November. It should keep me busy enough :)

Looking at current offers is it correct to say the CB visa is the best in market for me to PS ?

The aeroplan is pretty lacking (15k and I’m not sure what costs will be next year for a short haul flight). Then the whole TD points really confuse me.

I want to say the current 10% signup/PS bonus for the CashBack Infinite ends in the next couple of days. It’s a good offer, but if you are interested in the other cards they may actually get decent promos after the CBI one expires. Aeroplan relaunch is soon so that may be the next promo (I agree the current 15k is fairly weak).

The TD Rewards one is IIRC 0.4c per point for redemption on travel spend, so the card that gives you 3 Rewards points per dollar spent is the only TD card with a base earn rate greater than 1% (1.2%). May be worthwhile if you don’t spend much in the CBI bonus categories.

TD points are 0.5 cpp when redeemed via Expedia4TD, 0.4 cpp when redeemed against any travel purchase via "Book Any Way".

I wonder why they would reject someone who applied for around 10 cc in the last month :)

More collateral damage brought on by COVID. Those loosey-goosey maddening churn sprees of the past are also standing in line, waiting for a vaccine to right the ship.

If I were to reduce my credit limit on my current card, how many days should I wait to apply for a new card from easy web?

You can ask for them to use $5,000 of your current limit for a new card (new tradeline).

I reduced limit without applying for a new card, and it was a mess.

Thanks. Just to make sure I got it right - I currently have CBVI with 30k limit. I just call TD and ask them to use 5k from this card to open a new CBVI and there is no hard pull?

That’s the general principle.

With CBVI already, it might not work to use that card and open a new CBVI and get 10% cashback.

Anybody else notice that their cash-back is off by 1% when checking on tdrewards.com? It seems like the base 1% cash back went missing...

I see :
This offer is not available customers who have activated and/or closed a TD Cash Back Visa Infinite* Account in the last 12 months.

So, I wait until next week (current aeroplan offer ends 8th Sept) to see if there is better welcome offer.

I’m curious if new aeroplan promos will come out tomorrow ? I mean it’s 1 month to launch and I’m debating to take the infinite but 15k points is pretty low even with FYF

I suspect the best SUB will be when they launch in November. Interested to see what they offer starting tomorrow and if it will tempt me to PS. The expiry date of the promotion will be telling.
