[VirginMobile.ca] Virgin Mobile free tablet with 4GB/$10/month plan/data only

I was looking for a wireless hotspot and I stumbled on this deal. Virgin will GIVE you a Samsung Galaxy TabA for free on a two year term if you sign up for a data only plan. They offer 4 GB/month for $10/ month. I signed up for one before Christmas and they dinged me a $40 activation fee. I went back for another one today and the nice lady said no activation fee waived until Dec 31.
The deal comes with a SIM card but it's married to the tablet but I just set up a wifi bridge next to it and I have good wifi at my remote location for dirt cheap.

I know it says $20 in the link but go to the Virgin store and just ask for the $10 deal. They will probably offer it first

So you get 24 months of wifi and a Samsung Tablet A for $240 plus tax

Take That Fido!!

Wasn’t Fido’s deal for $0/mo? That’s what I got. Only 4GB but I’m not in it for the data. Just a free tablet for the kids.

I think you have to be an existing Fido customer to get that. That's what the FIDO lady told me and it was $15/month for 2GB and BYOD.
She is the one who steered me to Virgin and as far as I know, anybody can get the Virgin deal

Can you put the sim card in a dual card phone and just use the tablet as a wifi tablet?

I went through this many times with Virgin. The SIM card you get will only work with the tablet they give you

Nice find; thanks, will consider it! BTW, was the "10 GB" part of your post a typo (or am I misunderstanding it to be yet another product)?

As OP said, "it's married to the tablet". You can't use it in a phone.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A is on sale at Costco for $150 (or $130 if you have a $20 off $100+ coupon). So if all you need is a tablet, there are cheaper ways to get it.

No, Fido doesn't lock it to the Tab. I can put Fido SIM card to my dual SIM phone and use it there.

Man, I go the Fido plan and used it with VoIP. Ms.
However now they are only connect using IPv6 and Voip.MS does not work with IPv6.
Need to fine alternative way to make Fido data works with VoIP.MS.
I thought this would be helpful but i need it on a Phone.

Thank you
