Purchased an LG OLED 83" TV from Best buy but want to purchase an extended warranty elsewhere. Is it possible?

Purchased an LG OLED 83" TV from Best buy on February 14th, but want to purchase an extended warranty elsewhere. Is it possible? I don't like nor trust Best buys Warranty, especially not for $800 for 4 years.

What are the best extended Warranty / replacement plans available to me? Any idea?

Asurion and costco has been great. Amazon sells Asurion but not sure if it's only for the TVs purchased through Amazon?

If you bought it with your Credit card I would check to see if your CC provide extended warranty. Otherwsie SOL I don't think there is a specific 3rd party warranty for TV even if there is it will be very expensive and some things might not cover. You can also check LG website to see if they offer warranty on their products.

your credit card only.

No company would give you extended warranty after the fact.

Several companies do offer after the fact extended warranties for kitchen appliances. Dunno about TVs.

For my KitchenAid and AVG kitchen appliances, I could get an extended warranty from Comerco at any time up to the end of the first year. (They don't offer it after the one-year manufacturers' warranties expire of course.) Also, for the KitchenAid appliances specifically, KitchenAid itself also offers extended warranties, and again I could get it after the fact, I believe also up to one year after purchase.

I am sure there are lots of third party companies that would be happy to take your money

I read someplace that only 15-20% of extended warranties are claimed.

That makes it a very profitable business.

You could try to get the extended warranty quote for your TV from LG website...

your only option since u bought from best buy. is to get best buys warranty or get one from LG though the LG parts site. all those 3rd party ones square trade Asurion ect tv would have had to be bought though the stores there sold at.

if u talk to the manger at best buy they can normally offer to sell u the 4 year plan at the price of the 2 year plan. extended warranty on OLED model tvs are pricey

Dunno about LG, but for KitchenAid for their appliance warranties, it seemed like they were much more on the ball. I had to get my speed oven looked at under the manufacturer's warranty, and they sent someone THE NEXT DAY. I was shocked. And when he arrived, he understood the issue within 2 minutes. I've dealt with Comerco warranties in the past, purchased from the store, and they did honour the warranty, but it would usually take at least a week or two to get a service technician to come. Not surprisingly, the KitchenAid extended warranty, even discounted, is way more expensive than the Comerco extended warranty. I bought neither though.

As for my LG OLED, I have a 65" 2018 model and it still works fine. I did not buy any extended warranty. In fact, I've almost been hoping it would die, so I would have an excuse to upgrade. ;)

It should be noted though that most extended warranties do not cover burn-in. Some do, but most don't. Best Buy's extended warranty used to cover burn-in, but I don't know if that's still the case. I don't know about LG.
