You don’t need to use points to pay for all the purchase, only use 3 points if you want and pay rest with credit card, still get the $10 discount on amazon.ca

There's a link in EasyWeb to the TDRewards site but the label doesn't indicate that that's where you have to go to see how your CB balance was credited. How hard can it be to show that information in the CC section of EasyWeb along with each transaction so you don't even need to go to TDRewards in the first place?
To be fair, most Canadian banks have a separate rewards portal, although some have SSO so you don't have to create a separate account and the experience is a bit more seamless.
With some cash back cards (CIBC, Scotia) you don't get to see any detailed info at all, just your total cash back balance.
I agree it would be nice to see the cash back details in Easyweb but most people probably don't care and just want the option to redeem, which you can do from within Easyweb.

Looks like it's per calendar year. Have received 3% on ~$15.1K PAP now since PS'ing into this CBI, but ~$300 of that was in 2019.

bizee-bee wrote: So your gap between having any AVI in the tradeline is 10 months (Nov 2019 to Sep 2020), which explains why you didn't get the first purchase bonus, based on anectdotal sightings. Previously, I had mentioned that I've pegged the required distance to be around 1.25-1.5 yrs.

However, from what I've seen, the gap doesn't matter when it comes to getting the MSR-bonus. For me, when I needed to test this, I made refundable bookings to meet the MSR and waited for the first (next) statement to cycle, and when I saw the bonus (Aeroplans, FCT TD Rewards) then I did proper spending before cancelling the 'test' purchases. Something for you to consider.

You bring up a good point, that the T&Cs mention that you must not have opened the account withing 6 months, so you'd be eligible. You have that on your side of the argument. My info about the gap time required is related to PS'ing so that you can expect/hope to see automatic welcome bonus experience. By the by, for the CBVI, we've seen the T&Cs now mentioned not just the last opening date, but also includes the closing date, as of the promo period that bagan on Jun 1st, 2020. I would expect TD to start adding this new wording to all of their products, eventually.

Personally, I have 6 TD tradelines running so I prefer to NOT have to call to chase up a missing PS welcome bonus. I've had to do this many times in the past (wife and I), and the TD reps are getting tighter with their decisions, and probably moreseo now with COVID in the bottomline equation. The other option for me would be to close down the tradelines and then apply as NEW applications, and then the required gap times I've mentioned are no longer in the equation. FWIW, the algo's for NEW applications don't appear to be stringently applied in this sector of the game,

Good luck with your first purchase bonus, automatically appearing within 8 weeks. From past experience, you're going to need to call in again, and escalate from the front-line rep to a supervisor/manager to get action. Myself, I've grown tired of calling and begging TD to manually post the Aeroplans and TD Rewards...and vice versa, they're tired of me.
Update:

As expected, similar to others , MSR 10k bonus posted in 2nd statement, but no welcome bonus of 15k. Called in - a nice rep talked to supervisor and manually applied the 15k (keeping fingers crossed for the next statement).

Prior to getting TD's Cash Back Visa Infinite, i had the Cap1 costco MC, and their online account shows you all information regarding cashback on a per transaction basis. Since the Cap1 card was my first cashback card experience, i just assumed all other issuers would display the info in a similar manner. Bad assumption on my part it seems.

How long does it usually take for a new credit card to be mailed to a branch? I've never been a TD customer before but I've already received the pin at my home. 1800 number couldn't give me any info.

My wife's card arrived at the branch Nov 26 - application was submitted/approved on-line Nov 11. So, 11 business days. That's Metro Vancouver area too.

It seems like my td visa infinite has trigger cash advance for some reason?
I am suspecting the aliexpress purchase from paypal using my TD VI?
Any idea? What else can trigger cash advance? Feel like I am stepping in a land mine now with TD credit card

There's a thread about this in the personal finance forum, seems to be an issue with Ali/Paypal transactions: aliexpress-making-cash-advance-transactions-2420975/

bizee-bee wrote: You were connected with 'that' rep. Try calling again. I've PS'd into the CBVI card on multiple tradelines to get the 10% cash back rate, and the first 3 calls were all within a span of 2 months. My wife has also requested multiple CBVI PS conversions, but spread apart a bit more, around 3-5 months apart. All within the past 12 months. Prior to this recent CBVI foray, we've been PS'ing multiple times/concurrently to other products such as the AVI an FCT cards.

If you want to PS a TD card, you can do it as soon as 60 (or is it 90?) days after opening a card via new online application or via PS'ing into a new product, and still qualify for the new card product's vanilla promotional offer at the TD webstie. What you have to be aware of is if you PS back into the same product a second time, then you need to wait at least a year in order to get the welcome bonus again, automatically.

The T&Cs have/had been saying you must wait 6 months in between bonuses (implying the SAME card product bonus) but I believe they have now modified them to say you must not have opened/closed that product within the past 12 months. Is it enforced? I don't know. If you don't get the new bonus automatically, and you have a leg to stand on vis-a-vis the T&Cs, then call and fight for your rewards.

If you're running 6 TD tradelines in your profile like I am, then setting up a spreadsheet to show all the products and dates that each tradeline was opened/PS'd, is a must-have. Shepherding 7 other TD tradelines from family members, would be prone to mix-ups, so I need some organizational tools to tame the madness.
Based on this, I think I should be ok - I am planning on doing a PS from CBVI to AVIP (card has never been an Aeroplan card). Rep I spoke to said I would be eligible for the full WB however I am a little concerned that I've only had the CBVI for 5 months and the T&Cs are ambiguous in regards to the 12 month limit. Would I be better off just splitting off 10k from my CBVI and creating a new tradeline?

When I logged in to my amazon account, my TD card is already enrolled for shop with points and i can see the cash equivalent. They also have a promo - use 50$ shop with points, and get 10$ discount! Good deal! Thanks TD and OP!
How long did you or others have to wait to receive your 60k bonus on the TD FCVI? Did you receive the 20k first purchase bonus immediately after using the card? Did you get the 40k right after hitting 1500$ spend?

I've had this card before and I'm pretty sure the 20k posted not long after the first purchase and the 40k for the MSR was also received shortly after hitting 1500$. I product switched at the beginning of November (was a TD FCVI, downgraded to rewards, and upgraded after 6 months) but have only received 40k worth of points. I hit my 1500$ MSR on November 27th. I've called in twice about it, the first time I was told to wait until after my latest statement to post (which had changed dates. I waited and no bonus) and today was told that I had to wait the full 3 months before receiving the additional points even though I've already spent the 1500$?!! (this seems like it has to be incorrect).

Both times I didn't want to push the agents I was talking to because they seemed confused saying that I had already received the first purchase bonus and I was waiting for the 40k MSR when I've actually received 40k and am waiting for 20k. I was hoping maybe they paid me extra somehow for the first purchase and I would get an additional 40k later lol Anyway, it seems most likely I just didn't get the 20k first purchase bonus and need them to add it manually. I wonder if I should get them to fix it now? It seems like if I wait an additional 2 months like the last agent suggested that I'll just have to call them back to fix it then.

"was a TD FCVI, downgraded to rewards, and upgraded after 6 months"

Hmm, started as a FCT card ... when was it opened and when did you PS to Rewards?

Probably not enough time passed, as YMMV with the WB, since it has been an FCT previously.

I'd have to verify the dates exactly but it was probably a FCVI about a year and a half ago, downgraded to rewards in May 2020 and upgraded to FCVI on November 3rd. I was sure to wait a full 6 months before upgrading (as per the terms and conditions) and had the agent I spoke to verify with a supervisor that I would qualify for the full 60k bonus and put a note in my account. I also have a recording of the call. I'm sure I'll get the points eventually because of the steps I took but I guess I'll have to get them to add it manually and the agents I've spoken to recently are just confused about having to wait for the missing points.

Hmm, PS from FCT to Rewards card May 2020, approx 6 months as you mentioned?

Just re-read upthread a few posts, @marty3d quotes the friendliest @bizee-bee.

"What you have to be aware of is if you PS back into the same product a second time, then you need to wait at least a year in order to get the welcome bonus again, automatically."

Yes, to answer your question, 20k WB usually posts immediately after 1st purchase and 40k right after MSR is met.

Did your 40k post prior to you hitting MSR or shortly after?

Sounds like you may have to fight for the 20k manually, if you care to.

Am sure Bee will chime in, if he's not too busy ... and/or you can do a keyword search within this thread for his previous posts.

Cheers!

Hi All,

So I PS'd to the FCVI from the CBVI for the bonus early September or late August, about a week before the one year mark at which I switched from FCVI to CBVI. Sign up was no problem, agent assured me I would get points if I met the conditions. Called mid-October after the first statement and still no points, agent assured me I will be getting points but said to wait until the end of that week and then call in the following week if no points. Keep in mind I have never had an issue getting the WB's in the past for any of the cards. Called following week, agent says I am not eligible for it, spoke to supervisor and she had to manually enter the WB after a long chat about my previous correspondence. However, because I was not eligible for the points she could not add the remaining 40K points. She stated that they have now started to cancel people's cards whom they see are constantly switching back and forth and as she said plainly. "playing the system". So the 6 month rule is not in effect anymore I am assuming, everyone who has been "playing the system" be aware.
